He was singing a Bruno Mars Song and the atmosphere become jolly the others joined in the singing.
Wung Jun signalled Li Jei that it was time. Li Jei stood up and offered his hand to Zhang Lei. They walked away from the bonfire into the shorelines. As they walked further they saw the moon shining brightly and its reflections on the see to them was magical. "Wow that is beautiful." Zhang Lei uttered awed with the scenery in front of her. Li Jei on the other hand was looking at her mesmerized. "Yes but not as beautiful as you!"
Zhang Lei looked at him and smiled. Their gazed at each other while he took both her hands to his. "Zhang Lei, I like you, I like you a lot. Will you give me the honor to take care and protect you all the time? Be my girlfriend?" Zhang Lei was moved by his confession. She was in the verge of tears and she just nodded and said "Yes." They hugged each other and Li Jei kissed her softly and lovingly. "From now on nobody is going to take you away from me. I will be by your side always. Promise me that we you will tell me everything. We should be honest with each other." Li Jei told her. "As you will also do for me." They hugged again and stayed that for a long time. "Officially I'm yours and you're mine". Li Jei said happily.
Wung Jun and Xiu Yeng were eavesdropping. They did not hear what they were saying but they saw what they are doing. They knew that their plan was a success. They are happy with their bestfriends. While they were trying to push each other to get a clearer view from where they were hiding, Wung Jun slipped colliding with Xiu Yeng. They fell to the ground Xiu Yeng fell on top of him and their lips pressed together. It took seconds for them to realize what happened. Xiu Yeng stood up right away and fixed herself. Awkwardness enveloped them. "Aaahh, uhmmm I will go back inside first, have a good night!" she turn and left leaving Wung Jun stunned. While walking Xiu Yeng touched her lips. "Uugghhh that was so embarrassing." She went inside their room and slammed herself on the bed. Touched her chest calming her heart that was having a summersault. Back at the beach Wung Jun did not breath until Xiu Yeng was out of site. He tapped his chest to stop his heart from galloping out from his chest. He could not explain how he felt.
The couple were strolling in the shorelines and enjoying their feet on the waves. "What's on your mind right now?" he asked. "Hmmm nothing in particular just enjoying this time with you. Though there is one thing that bothers me. It's Shen." "What about him?" "It was just weird. Remember the time that you saw me almost hitting that post. Before that, he invited me for a snack so I went with him. He asked me about my father. It was just weird. I think he knows something about my dad. Anyway, let's just leave that thought for now. I don't want to ruin our time.
Xiu Yeng was still dazed when someone was knocking at her door. She got up, thinking that it's Zhang Lei. She opened it excitedly but to her surprise it was Wung Jun. "Oh it's you." she said. "Can we talk. Look what happened was an accident. And I forgive you." His face looks very serious that Xiu Yeng got red with anger. "Wow I never knew you're that thicked face Wung Jun. I am going to kill you, I swear." she slammed the door but he was too quick and block the door with his foot "Oooouccch!" He screamed in pain. "That really hurts, my bones are broken." "Serves you right. Hmmp!" Xiu Yeng said angrily. "Look Xiu Yeng I was just teasing you okey. I don't want us to feel awkward because of what happened. We are here for our friends. So we should focus on them and support their happiness. It was just an accident." Xiu Yeng was touched by what he said at the same time felt sad. "Come on let's wait for them to come back. He pulled her towards the living room. Xiu Yeng did not oppose. She let him drag her to seat on the couch and wait. "What are we going to do now?" "Let's just watch TV." Wung Jun turned on the tv and the program that was about two couples kissing passionately. He immediately changed the channel, this time it was a couple at the beach kissing each other. He pressed the button again. It was a music channel and the music video title was 'Kiss Me' by Sixpence non the Richer ( author's note: If some of you does not know this song. It is a popular song in the 90's) Xiu Yeng turned red again. 'What the heck! Is the gods playing tricks on me?' "Let's just wait for them outside." Wung Jun turned off the TV.
They sat on the swing facing the beach while they silently wait for their friends to come back. Each with their own thoughts. "Please don't tell anyone about what happened." Xiu Yeng broke the silence. "And you're right let's just forget about what happened. Deal?" she offered her hand. "Deal." Wung Jun shook her hand. Xiu Yeng tried to forget about the incident but when she thinks about it again her heart beats faster again.
Holding hands, Li Jei and Zhang Lei arrived from their stroll. They saw their friends and they noticed that both are quiet. "What's wrong with you two?" Li Jei asked. "Are you okey Xiu Yeng?" Zhang Lei asked her friend and sat beside her. "No, nothings wrong with us. Right Wung Jun?" nudging him, and urge him to say something "Yes we are fine. You guys worry too much about nothing. Brother I am so happy for you. Now, how about some Karoake to celebrate. Let's sing the night away!"
So they get inside and prepared the karoake. Zhang Lei chose the first song. And guess what the song was?
