Aetherion: Rise of the Forgotten Mage
A century ago, the world of Aetherion changed forever when ten mysterious Towers appeared across the world without warning. Soon after, monsters began pouring endlessly from the Towers, destroying cities, kingdoms, and entire civilizations. Humanity stood on the edge of extinction until powerful mages united to create the first Mage Towers, organizations dedicated to fighting the growing threat.
From the endless battles against monsters emerged legendary figures known as Mage Lords, mages whose power surpassed ordinary limits. Under the leadership of the mysterious Mage Queen, humanity managed to survive and reclaim parts of the world. But even after a hundred years, the Towers still stand, monsters still emerge, and most of the world remains uninhabitable.
Now, only a fraction of Aetherion is safe.
In this harsh world where magical talent determines status, a boy named Will Grey lives as a failure.
A student of the prestigious Aetherion Arcane Academy, Will possesses a large mana pool but suffers from a defect that prevents him from properly casting magic. Mocked by nobles and looked down upon by society, he struggles to survive while barely earning Academy Points needed to graduate from the academy.
But unknown to the world, Will Grey dies.
At the same moment, a man from modern Earth named Saito Ren dies trying to save someone during an accident. Once a former soldier turned corporate slave, Ren spent his life dreaming of becoming a hero like those from the stories he loved as a child.
Instead of disappearing after death, he awakens before mysterious god-like beings who offer him a second chance at life.
Ren asks for powers similar to the legendary abilities from his favorite fictional heroes, but the gods warn him that such powers are too dangerous to grant completely. Instead, they give him a special System that allows him to gradually unlock abilities through missions, growth, and combat.
Moments later, Ren awakens inside Will Grey’s body.
Thrown into the dangerous world of Aetherion, Ren discovers that the powers granted to him do not follow the world’s normal laws of magic. Unlike ordinary mages who rely on wands and incantations, Ren gains access to an ancient hand-sign combat style known as Ninjutsu, a forgotten experimental magic system abandoned long ago because normal mages could never use it effectively.
But Ren can.
As he slowly unlocks powers such as the Eclipse eye and advanced Magic abilities, he begins walking a path unlike any mage before him.
Meanwhile, the world itself hides deeper secrets.
At the center of global power stands the massive Central Tower, a floating city where the five Mage Lords govern humanity’s strongest military force while the immortal being known as Baal remains sealed at the highest point of the Tower.
Far away, the legendary Mage Queen continues maintaining the seal on the mysterious Gate connected to an ancient forgotten catastrophe.
And hidden within Will Grey’s body lies a secret connection to that Gate itself.
As Tower missions, academy politics, noble conflicts, racial tensions, and ancient conspiracies begin surrounding him, Ren must survive in a world where monsters evolve endlessly and humanity’s fragile peace could collapse at any moment.
