Gao Yang was even more curious than Murphy, because Phoenix was now under his command.
So, Gao Yang couldn't resist taking out his phone and actually dialed Phoenix.
Phoenix quickly answered the call and whispered, "Boss."
Talking to Phoenix was a painful task, because she would never voluntarily say a word. Though she would answer every question, if an answer could be made with one word, she wouldn't use two. Communicating with someone like this wasn't impossible, but it certainly wasn't comfortable.
Thus, Gao Yang didn't quite know what to say, and when he remained silent, Phoenix did too. Both held the phone without making a sound.
Finally, Gao Yang organized his thoughts.
"Phoenix, who you were before doesn't matter. What matters is who you are going forward. So, I need to ask you some questions. If you feel you can answer them, then do so. If not, that's fine, okay?"
"Okay."
