Chapter 9 - A Scheduled Date

Delilah stands up from her section in anger and heads backstage toward her changing room.

"Come on, let's go see Delilah, she needs our support." Michael's mom says as she and Michael get up from the stands.

They arrive at Delilah's changing room and hear screaming from inside.

"Seems she isn't taking the loss very well." Michael says, glancing at his mom.

"That's why she needs us." His mom replies as she opens the door.

"Honey, you ok?" she asks.

Delilah looks back at them. "Do I look ok Eunice?, do I!!." she shouts.

"Chill out; she's just tryna help." Michael tells her.

"Shut up Michael, look I just wanna go home ok." Delilah snaps.

"Yeah, yeah, let's do that, I'll prepare your favorite meal when we get back." Eunice offers.

"Thanks I appreciate that Eunice, I really do." Delilah says, managing a small smile.

"Never knew ice skating could be this interesting Delilah." Michael remarks.

"You realized that watching Fleure or watching me." Delilah says, staring at him intensely.

"You already know my answer to that." Michael replies with a smirk.

"Asshole" Delilah mutters, hitting his arm. They both chuckle and start making their way out of the arena.

"I thought I had this one, I reall-." Delilah begins, but cuts herself short when she spots Fleure in the distance signing autographs for some kids.

"It's her!!." Delilah shouts and takes off running toward Fleure. The kids look back, frightened by the scary expression on Delilah's face as she charges at them.

"Hey!!, don't scare the kids away." Fleure calls out.

Delilah skids to a stop. "what the hell was that all about!!." she yells.

"I should be asking you that, why are you sprinting at me like I stole something." Fleure asks, looking confused.

"You're retiring!!." Delilah shouts.

"Yeah and why is that making you sprint?." Fleure asks again, still not understanding why walking wasn't an option.

"How dare you retire before I beat you, why!!." Delilah points at her, completely flustered.

"First off how dare me retire?, who are you the God of ice skating!!, secondly you should be happy with me gone, cause you finally have a shot at winning." Fleure smirks.

"You bitch." Delilah spits back.

Just then Eunice and Michael catch up to them.

"So you're the girl that beat me Delilah huh, hmph you're not all that ok." Eunice says, giving Fleure the side-eye.

"Uhmm ok." Fleure replies, still a little confused. Then her full attention locks onto Michael.

"You-, You're like me!!." Fleure says, getting right up in his face.

"Huh!!, what are you talking about?." Michael asks, equally confused.

"Oh, sorry about that, I just got excited, I'm Fleure by the way." She stretches out her hand.

"I'm Michael?." he answers in a puzzled tone.

"Michael huh, would you be interested in going on a date with me next week Saturday." Fleure asks with a bright smile.

"Eh, Eh, Eh!!." Michael, Eunice, and Delilah all exclaim at the same time.

"The hell do you think you're doing Fleure." Delilah says, slapping Fleure's hand away from Michael's.

"What's the issue lilah, jealous?." Fleure teases.

"Ewww that's my step brother." Delilah shoots back.

"Then let him decide and step aside." Fleure tells her.

Eunice watches the whole scene unfold in pure awe. She's a little excited by it, even if she's ashamed to admit it.

"It's up to you tiger, are you interested?." Fleure asks Michael.

Michael contemplates the offer, still intrigued by what she meant when she said "You're like me." After a moment he makes up his mind.

"it's a date." he says, smiling.

"Yayy, give me your phone, let me put down my number." Fleure says. Michael hands it over and she types her number in.

"Now put yours down in mine, just incase." Fleure pulls out her own phone.

"Oh ok." Michael replies and starts entering his number.

"Eunice are you seeing this." Delilah says.

"I'm as shocked as you are honey." Eunice answers, smiling with pleasure.

"You don't look shocked." Delilah mutters, looking at her awkwardly.

"Bye Michael, see you on Saturday." Fleure says.

"I'll see you on Saturday too." Michael replies as they wave goodbye.

He turns back to Delilah, who is giving him a dirty stare.

"Going on dates with the enemy huh." she says.

"Shut up, and let's go home, I'm starved." Michael answers. The three of them begin walking toward their car.
