Chapter 29 - Notification! The Selection System Activates!

"Goku, should we kill this guy? I don't think he's a good person."

Krillin jogged over, glanced at the dazed Vegeta, and spoke coldly.

"Uh…"

Goku hesitated. Even though Vegeta had killed Raditz, deep down, he still didn't like killing.

"Just throw him off Earth."

Zeru spoke at that moment.

Vegeta couldn't die.

Not because Zeru cared about him as the "second protagonist," but because the future cross-time martial arts tournament wouldn't feel complete without him.

"Alright! We'll listen to Big Brother Zeru!"

Goku let out a breath of relief.

With Zeru's decision made, no one objected.

Vegeta slowly stood up from the sand, his expression constantly shifting. He glanced at Goku, then at Krillin—the one who had killed Nappa—before finally locking his gaze onto Zeru, his brows tightly furrowed.

"You… are also a pure-blooded Saiyan?"

"Oh?" Zeru raised an eyebrow, a faint smirk on his lips. "What? Planning to use your so-called royal Saiyan bloodline to suppress me too?"

"Hmph."

Vegeta sneered and shot into the sky, disappearing moments later.

After he left, Krillin glanced at the corpses of Raditz and Nappa on the beach, frowned, and pulled Yamcha over to clean things up.

"Big Brother Zeru, I want to train under you for a while."

Goku walked up to Zeru, his expression serious.

"I can feel the gap between us getting bigger and bigger… I don't want a day to come when I can't even see your shadow anymore."

Zeru paused for a moment, then smiled.

"Alright. Not just you, but also—"

"Notification!"

"The Selection System has been activated:

Train the Z Fighters in a 'devil training' program for three months.

Choice 1: Refuse training. Reward: +20 billion base power.

Choice 2: Accept training. Reward: Combat Robot Room, 5% chance-based weakening effect, +10 billion base power, Time Stop +0.5 seconds."

Before he could finish speaking, the system notification interrupted him.

Another selection.

And this time—

The rewards were huge.

More importantly—

He had already planned to train them anyway.

This was pure profit.

"Choice 2."

He didn't hesitate.

"Big Brother Zeru… what were you about to say?"

Goku waited for his answer, only to see Zeru suddenly smiling like an idiot.

"Oh, right!"

Zeru snapped back to reality, coughed awkwardly, then turned serious as he looked around.

"Not just Goku. Krillin, Piccolo, Tien, Yamcha…"

As he listed names, his gaze finally landed on little Gohan, who was sitting on the turtle shell.

"And Gohan too. All of you will train under me for three months!"

"Wait—Gohan too?!"

Goku was stunned.

"Don't underestimate his potential."

Zeru smiled.

"I know Chi-Chi wants him to become a scholar instead of a fighter. But think about it—if Earth isn't safe, how can he study peacefully and become that scholar?"

Goku blinked.

That… made sense.

"Then… I'll talk to Chi-Chi first?"

"You think she'll agree if you ask?"

Zeru glared at him, then waved his hand decisively.

"It's settled. Tomorrow morning, Kame House. If anyone is late…"

He clenched his fist and swept his gaze across everyone.

A chill ran down their spines.

This man—

Was serious.

"Got it! I'll be on time!"

Goku stood straight and shouted.

"We'll be there too!"

Krillin and Yamcha exchanged a glance.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

They couldn't miss it.

A day passed quickly.

The next morning—

After washing up, Zeru arrived at Kame House.

"Big Brother Zeru is here!"

"Uncle Zeru!"

Everyone instantly straightened up.

Among them—

Gohan was the cutest.

The little guy stared wide-eyed at Zeru, his voice soft and innocent.

Zeru burst out laughing.

At the same time, a thought crossed his mind.

Maybe…

He didn't need to be so careful anymore.

Maybe it was time for Bulma and Lazuli to have children.

"…Yeah. I'm not that young anymore. It's about time I had kids."

A gentle smile appeared on his face.

"Big Brother Zeru, what are you smiling about?"

Goku suddenly asked.

"Smiling?"

Zeru's expression instantly turned serious.

He glared at Goku, then shot into the sky.

"Follow me. For the next three months, I'll be putting you through hell. When it's over… you won't just improve by one level. You'll improve by several!"

Everyone shuddered.

Especially Krillin.

He glanced at Tien, swallowed, and forced a laugh.

"Why do I feel like after this… I'll never want to train under Big Brother Zeru again…?"

"I…"

Tien's third eye twitched rapidly.

He had the exact same feeling.

"What are you standing around for?! Move! Whoever arrives last… starts with my first round of training!"

Zeru's voice echoed again.

Whoosh!

The moment he finished speaking—

Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha shot into the sky.

No hesitation.

They were the weakest.

If they didn't move now—

They'd definitely be last.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Goku grabbed Gohan and followed, flying toward Zeru.
