Chapter 4 - Too Late to Be Seen

Aarav's world was no longer the same.

Everything looked the same…college, friends, classes…but something inside him had changed permanently.

Now he smiled… but not genuinely. He talked… but his mind was somewhere else.

And every night… the same routine —Opening WhatsApp…Going to Naina's chat…And staring at that one line…

Last Seen: Days Ago

It no longer felt like just a sentence…It felt like a punishment.

Aarav tried many times…

He wrote long messages —

"I'm sorry…""I made a mistake…""Please, just talk to me once…""I miss you…"

Every message got delivered…

But none of them were ever seen.

Now he understood the irony —

Earlier, he used to ignore after seeing…And now, his messages were waiting… just to be seen.

One day, Aarav gathered the courage to go near Naina's house.

He stood there…Looking from a distance at that balcony where she once used to stand while talking to him on calls.

Everything looked the same…

Except one thing —

Her.

Aarav took out his phone…Opened the chat one last time…

Slowly, he typed —

"I'm sorry… now I understand what you meant to me."

For a few seconds, he just stared at the message…

Then he pressed send.

Message delivered.

Aarav kept staring at the screen…

As if this time, something miraculous would happen…As if she would come online…As if she would reply…

But nothing happened.

Only the wind moved around him…And a strange silence settled within him.

He slowly locked his phone…

And turned away.

This time… without any expectations.

At night… out of habit, he opened WhatsApp again.

His finger automatically went to that chat…

And the screen showed the same thing —

Last Seen: Days Ago

Aarav smiled faintly…

But this time, that smile carried pain… and acceptance.

He finally understood —

Some people never come back…No matter how many times you say "sorry."

Some things, once broken…Keep echoing inside forever.

And some messages…

Are never seen.

💬 Final Message

"People don't feel special when they're always available…but the moment they leave, their value becomes clear."

But by then…It's already too late.
