Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: It feels like someone is deliberately not coming out.

The chaotic school gate attracted the attention of the mentally disturbed students, but because it was class time, they could only sit properly in their seats, except for those near the windows, such as Sephiroth.

With Sephiroth's improved eyesight, he could clearly see that those "people" attempting to break into the school didn't have any religious fanaticism on their faces.

'Is that a disease?' Sephiroth couldn't help but think.

Just as Sephiroth was still pondering the connection between these people and the Main Quest, the classroom door was suddenly pulled open with a loud "Bang!"

Komuro Takashi, who had been skipping classes for days, suddenly burst into the classroom, and without a word, dragged Miyamoto Rei out.

"Hey! Takashi! What are you doing?" Miyamoto Rei was startled and, before she could react, was dragged out of the classroom by Komuro Takashi.

"Komuro Takashi! What are you doing? Not only are you skipping class, but you're also disrupting the lesson!" The professor on the podium tried to stop Komuro Takashi.

Komuro Takashi completely ignored him, only anxiously pulling Miyamoto Rei out.

"Takashi! What are you doing?" Igou Hisashi ran up to Komuro Takashi, frowning as he questioned him.

"No time for words, come with me!" Komuro Takashi decisively pulled Igou Hisashi out of the classroom.

"This is..." Takagi Saya's face turned slightly pale as she watched the commotion Komuro Takashi had caused. Even a genius like her had a hunch.

"It seems Komuro Takashi has discovered something, so he's in a hurry to take Rei away." Sephiroth coldly confirmed Takagi Saya's suspicions.

Hearing Sephiroth's words, Takagi Saya's face instantly turned pale. She lowered her head, clenching her fists, trying to hold back the tears.

At this moment, a commotion erupted downstairs, and the Main God's notification appeared again.

"Branch Mission One: Eliminate the Undead. Reward: Ordinary Undead: 1 point/unit."

"Bang!" Sephiroth slammed his hand on the table and stood up.

Compared to the protection mission, this was a reward he could actively earn! After 10 years, he was finally going to increase his points again! How could he not be excited?! Although he didn't know if the Undead were just those "people" who attacked the school, he'd find out by asking.

"The 'Dead Bodies' are just those 'things' that attacked the school." The Supreme God, who had been with Sephiroth for ten years, answered before Sephiroth could even ask.

"'Things'? It seems they're not human, so there's no need to worry about their favorability rating decreasing." Sephiroth smiled excitedly.

"Fantasy-kun? What are you doing?" The professor, who had just been furious with Komuro Takashi, was startled by Sephiroth's words and looked at him in surprise.

"Find a way to protect everyone, teacher." Sephiroth said, pulling Takagi Saya, who was still regretting her actions, out of the classroom.

"Wait... wait a minute! What are you doing?" Pulled into the hallway by Sephiroth, Takagi Saya finally reacted, blushing and trying to pull away from his grasp.

"With your intelligence, you should be able to guess that 'something' is about to happen. We need to get ready now." Sephiroth grabbed Takagi Saya and quickly ran towards the rooftop.

Finding she couldn't escape, Takagi Saya gave up and casually let Sephiroth pull her, her face flushed, and asked, "Then we should be leaving the school, why are we running towards the rooftop?"

"The situation is completely unclear right now. The rooftop is the best vantage point. Besides, I'm on the rooftop... Be careful!" Sephiroth's eyes swept over Takagi Saya below, and he suddenly widened his eyes and shouted.

Because of Takagi Saya's body, their speed wasn't fast. Just as they reached the stairs, a wobbly corpse suddenly leaped out from a nearby classroom and lunged at Takagi Saya, who was falling behind.

"Ah—!" Seeing the blood-soaked face of the Undead behind her, Takagi Saya screamed and recoiled in terror.

Although the Undead's exact condition was unclear, Sephiroth had no reason to hold back, whether it was to protect Takagi Saya or eliminate the Undead as part of the main objective.

Having already ascended the stairs, Sephiroth lightly braced his hand on the railing, using the momentum to kick the Undead.

The Undead, struck by the kick, flew backward five or six meters before landing on the ground.

"Watch out!" Sephiroth exclaimed as soon as he landed.

Sephiroth didn't have time to get up; with a swift sweep of his leg, he knocked the undead behind him to the ground. He then quickly got up and ran to Takagi Saya's side, picking her up.

"Quick... Let me down!" Takagi Saya struggled frantically.

"Stop talking nonsense! Hold on tight!" Sephiroth ignored Takagi Saya's protests, instead holding her even tighter, quickly running up the stairs towards the rooftop.

Knowing she was indeed holding him back, Takagi Saya could only blush and cling tightly to Sephiroth.

"Komuro?" Sephiroth looked suspiciously at Komuro Takashi and the other two who were about to enter the rooftop. They should have gone downstairs just now, right?

"Come up here quickly, the bottom floor is already full of those undead!" Miyamoto Rei said anxiously.

Without further ado, Sephiroth, carrying Takagi Saya, hurriedly followed the three into the rooftop, then found something to block the door.

"How is Hisashi?" Sephiroth frowned, looking at Igou Hisashi, who was clutching his waist.

"He's been bitten..." Miyamoto Rei said somewhat despairingly.

"Cough... Takashi, help me... Cough... Let me end this as a human..." Igou Hisashi coughed up blood, speaking intermittently to Komuro Takashi.

"...Hisashi..." Komuro Takashi hesitated, raising the round stick in his hand.

"No, Takashi! Hisashi is your best friend!" Miyamoto Rei stopped Komuro Takashi's movement.

"But, Hisashi..." Komuro Takashi said reluctantly.

"I don't know! Hisashi is different! He definitely won't transform into this kind of thing!" Miyamoto Rei shouted, blocking Igou Hisashi's path.

"Uh..." Igou Hisashi, who had been bowing his head, suddenly let out a strange sound and lunged towards Miyamoto Rei.

"Careful!" Sephiroth, who had been indifferent, quickly intervened and pulled Miyamoto Rei away.

"Ahhhhhh—!" Komuro Takashi yelled, repeatedly striking Igou Hisashi on the head with his round stick.

"Boasting!" Hit hard by the round stick, Igou Hisashi fell to the ground.

"Hisashi... Hisashi..." Miyamoto Rei trembled, reaching out to Igou Hisashi.

Seeing Igou Hisashi not respond, Miyamoto Rei froze, then looked at Komuro Takashi with a frantic gaze.

"You! You killed Hisashi! I want to kill you!" Miyamoto Rei lunged at Komuro Takashi, baring her fangs and claws.

"Calm down!" Sephiroth quickly embraced Miyamoto Rei.

"No, Rei. I... I didn't..." Komuro Takashi mumbled incoherently.

"You hide first, Rei's mental state is unstable right now." Takagi Saya pushed Komuro Takashi away, signaling him to leave Miyamoto Rei's sight.

"Let me go! Let go! He killed Hisashi! I want to kill him!" Seeing Miyamoto Rei's frantic state, held by Sephiroth, Komuro Takashi could only hide behind the rooftop entrance.

Seeing Komuro Takashi safe, Takagi Saya began to calm Miyamoto Rei. Miyamoto Rei struggled for a long time before finally stopping due to exhaustion.

"Hoo! Hoo!" Miyamoto Rei panted heavily, the intense struggle having almost completely exhausted her strength, but it also calmed her down.

After regaining her composure, Miyamoto Rei realized she was being held tightly by Sephiroth. The warmth of his masculine body against her back and the breath of his breath on her cheek made her blush intensely. Fortunately, the redness from the intense activity hadn't faded yet, so she wasn't afraid of being seen through.

"Let... let me go..." Miyamoto Rei whispered.

"No! Rei, listen to me, now..." Takagi Saya thought Miyamoto Rei hadn't recovered yet and was about to continue persuading her.

"I'm fine now, Saya." Miyamoto Rei calmed down and spoke in a slightly louder voice.

"Huh? No! ...Sephiroth! How long do you intend to keep hugging me like this?!" Takagi Saya, stunned, finally realized how intimate Sephiroth and Miyamoto Rei's posture was, and immediately shouted.

"Are you alright, Rei?" Slowly releasing Miyamoto Rei, Sephiroth looked at her with some concern.

"No... I'm fine." Miyamoto Rei's face was still flushed, and she didn't dare look at Sephiroth.

"Hmph! Go call Takashi over, we have to sort this out." Takagi Saya glared at Sephiroth.

"Yes, yes." Sephiroth finally looked down at Miyamoto Rei, confirming that she was indeed alright before heading towards the back entrance of the rooftop.
