They met at the White Lotus's Headquarters this time. Devon had sent a letter the day after their talk that he wants to meet.
"Thank you for agreeing to meet," Devon said, solemn.
"I told you that I would accept for peace,"Kevin said. "Why would I not meet you?"
"It was not an easy decision," Devon said, eyes watery. "He is my brother, Kevin" Devon said.
Kevin was shocked. He had not expected that. How could that unfeeling monster could be related to such a person like Devon. That monster was Devon's brother. He felt sorry for his friend. No wonder he trusted and believed in him so much. But what can Kevin do. As much as he understood the love for younger Siblings. But giving the Demon free pass is not easy.
"I didn't know,"Kevin said, softly. It was never an easy task to give up someone let alone their own sibling. Was Devon really agreeing? He couldn't help but be weary of him"I'm surprised you've decided." It shocked him to the core that Devon's Peace meant more than his little brother. He couldn't have done that. If anyone dared to ask about Stefan and Steven. He would tear them apart. And Devon was giving him up without a fight. Was their relationship that bad. Or he didn't actually care for his brother. Kevin couldn't care less. It was beneficial for him and his pack. But he couldn't help but feel pity for the Demon. No wonder his family was ready to abandon him.
But Kevin still coundn't imagine his dumb goofball of a friend with that emotionless bastard. Goddess he was feeling a headache coming up.
"I told him." Devon said. His eyes were watery still, but no tears fell. Was Devon really feeling so upset? Kevin wondered."He told me if that was what I wished and needed then he would comply."
Kevin raised an eyebrow. "He did?" He hadn't expected the Demon to accept so easily.
He wondered what were the conditions Pack had used to bound such a being to the clan. To have such an monster follow whatever was commanded was no small feat. Very few could bind and command a monsterous wolf without it backfiring. The cases he had heard about strong wolves with a little upbar strength haven't had a happy ending. They were isolated and feared among their own men. And soon they turn out to be corrupted and are killed. Some even become rogues. He had heard about the Giant Eagle and Silver Snake. Belonging from the Avian and the Reptilian clan. Both were known for their monsterous strength. Rumour was it that they were mates. That was first time it had happened. Mates among inter species clan. That too between the natural enemy clans. The Eagle was killed by his own pack. And the Snake had turned rouge. And The White wolf. His strength was above the world. It was clear that he was holding back. Playing with his preys, tearing them apart later. It's only a matter of time that he also turns mad and becomes a huge threat to their kind. So Kevin couldn't help it.
"He did," Devon said pulling him out of his thoughts. He brought the sleeve of his shirt to eyes. "He has always done what was best for the Pack, even to his own detriment."
"I see."
"You must care for him. I will not have him mistreated."
Kevin tilted his head confused. What in the world is Devon thinking. "I do not understand." he said.
Because THE DEMON WOLF was destined to be restrained in his pack. Cell as soon as the treaty was signed, when Devon had handed the loathsome creature over. There was already the rising of the rouge pack 'Ravagers'. Didn't Devon know about the rouges. A misfit band of henious creatures. Chimeras and defected pieces of the beast tribes.
"He has never been with anyone either not that he was waiting for his mate" Devon said, worried. "They've always feared his looks."
"What are you talking about?" Kevin asked.
Devon stared at him. "Have you forgotten already? You asked me to give him to you."
"Yes?" Kevin said, uncertainly. There was something to his conversation that was-
"Yes," Devon nodded. "It was a surprise to me that you would ask that because I knew you were waiting for your mate, but it makes sense. Were you embarrassed to tell me that my little brother was your mate because of his reputation. When you asked for him. I thought you were asking him to bind him or something. I was so stressed and angry. I was about to dissolve the alliance. That's when Evan confessed about being your mate. You could have told me directly, I was so confused for nothing. When my sister told me that she could sense the bond between you and him I lost it all. I thought it was a joke. But when I asked my brother seeing his flushed face I was sure. Now I have no worries if he is mated with you of all people. I know how you feel about your mate. I feel myself lucky without being worried. But you could have just told me he was your mate. Imagine two mated pairs will be the pillers of this Alliance. What else do we need. Still it upsets me that I will miss him, can't wait to combine the packs together" Devon said grinning. With unshed tears
Kevin gaped at him. "Mate?". His head ached. He touched his heart above his clothes. The dull ache still there. How can he do that to his mate still out there. And Devon looked so serious and happy. Kevin remained tongue tied as he watched his friend speak about the Demon.
"I can understand he has this reputation, was that the reason you didnt wanted to disclose him being your mate. It's sad Kevin you shouldn't care what others spoke of your mate. You will understand when you meet him. He is adorable. You will be very happy. And luckily our elders also agreed and were happy enough to give him to you " Devon said all the previous tearfull eyes gone. "Its nice to have a friend as a brother-in-law" He said grasping Kevin's hand with a wide smile.
"Devon I don't-" Kevin started he wanted to deny it right away but the look Devon gave was priceless. A happy smile with a puppy eyes.
But was also a bit less overjoyed to be sending his brother away. Kevin was sure Devon loved his brother more than anything. And that monster was lucky that Devon would raise hell to fight for him. Kevin gave a relieved sigh there was no way Devon would have agreed if he knew Kevin's original plan. Devon would have fought him to death. Friend or not.
