Chapter 40
A little over a month after Rose's tiger cubs were born, Euphoria invited her over for a long-awaited treat. Wayne prepared a massive stone pot of spicy fish, the fragrant steam filling the air.
The cubs, now a month old, had grown significantly stronger. They tumbled and chased each other across the grass, their tiny growls and playful antics looking incredibly adorable.

She kept these worries to herself, noting that Luce remained perfectly composed. She tried to mirror his calm, telling herself they just needed more time.
"Euphoria, stop staring off into space and eat!" Rose said, waving a hand to snap her out of it.
