Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Azure Glow, The Pulse of the Heart

1. Peak Condition

Before heading underground again, Link spent the entire morning recovering inside his wooden shelter.

He sat beside the Furnace, watching as the world's unnatural regeneration slowly erased the last traces of injury from his body.

The scars faded.

The torn flesh hardened again.

His breathing steadied.

He finished the last of his water and exhaled deeply.

Strength returned to his limbs.

[HP: 100 / 100]

Full.

He stood up.

Equipped the Copper Breastplate.

Secured the Iron Broadsword across his back.

Checked the Torches at his waist one last time.

This time—

There was no hesitation in his eyes.

He was no longer the blood-covered survivor crawling in the dark.

He was armed.

Prepared.

A pioneer.

2. The Glowing Mushroom Biome

Link avoided the crack that nearly killed him yesterday.

Instead, he chose a deeper cave—one with more stable rock layers.

As he descended, the environment began to change.

Dry stone turned damp.

The air softened.

A faint scent of vegetation filled the underground.

Then—

He broke through the final layer of soil.

And froze.

A blue glow spread before him.

A hidden world beneath the earth.

The Glowing Mushroom Biome.

Massive mushrooms towered around him, some as tall as his chest.

Their caps emitted a soft, deep-blue light.

Spores drifted slowly in the air like floating dust.

The underground—once cold and lifeless—

Now felt… alive.

Strange.

Beautiful.

Unnatural.

3. The Heart—and Its Guardians

Behind a large mushroom cluster—

He saw it.

A glow.

Different.

Not blue.

Red.

Pulsing.

Like a heartbeat.

Life Crystal.

But Link didn't move immediately.

At the edge of his vision—

Three figures.

Underground Zombies.

Half-submerged in the glowing fungus.

Standing still.

Guarding it.

"…Good."

Link tightened his grip on the sword.

"My HP is full."

He stepped forward.

Then—

Charged.

The Iron Broadsword cut through the air in a wide arc.

"Slash—!"

The impact was heavy.

The first zombie staggered backward.

The knockback created space.

Link didn't waste it.

He stepped in.

Second strike.

Third.

The blade crushed through bone and rot.

The zombie collapsed into dust.

The others lunged—

But the rhythm was already his.

4. Reforging Life

The last enemy fell.

Silence returned.

Link approached the crystal.

"Thump… Thump…"

The sound was real.

Heavy.

Resonating with his own heartbeat.

He raised the pickaxe.

And struck.

"Clang—!"

The crystal shattered.

Red light exploded outward—

Then surged into his body.

"—Ah!!"

Link dropped to one knee.

His hands gripped his chest armor tightly.

Heat.

Burning.

Spreading through his veins.

His bones felt… reinforced.

His organs… expanding.

Not pain.

Transformation.

Something inside him became stronger.

More resilient.

More alive.

[Max HP: 100 → 120][HP Fully Restored]

He took a deep breath.

It felt different.

Deeper.

Stronger.

5. The Miner's Frenzy

With 120 HP—

Link stopped holding back.

He planted three torches around the area, flooding it with light.

Then—

He began mining.

Relentlessly.

The Hermes Boots carried him across uneven terrain with speed.

His pickaxe moved in rapid arcs, almost leaving afterimages.

Ore after ore fell into his inventory.

[Iron Ore +79][Copper Ore +55][Silver Ore +40]

His resources surged.

Every swing brought power closer.

He didn't stop.

Didn't hesitate.

Every visible vein—

Every metallic crack in the wall—

Was stripped clean.

Until his inventory began to fill.

Heavy.

Packed.

Satisfying.

6. Even the Chest

At the corner of the biome—

He found it.

A Golden Chest.

Decorated.

Intact.

He paused.

Checked the ground.

No pressure plates.

No traps.

He opened it.

Golden light spilled out.

Inside—

Treasure.

Hermes BootsEnchanted BoomerangRecall Potion ×2

Link froze when he saw the blue bottles.

Teleportation.

Instant return.

A second life.

"…So this is what safety feels like."

He collected everything.

Even the junk—

Rusty cans.

Old wires.

Coins.

Then—

He raised his pickaxe.

And smashed the chest.

"Clang! Clang!"

The chest broke apart—

Converted into an item.

Stored.

His first high-tier storage.

7. Return

When Link climbed back to the surface—

The sky was already painted in sunset colors.

He paused.

Looked at the horizon.

Something inside him had changed.

Yesterday—

He was prey.

Today—

He was a survivor.

No—

A conqueror.

He glanced at his hotbar.

The pink glow of the Lesser Healing Potion.

The blue shimmer of the Recall Potion.

Then at his armor.

"…The Guide was right."

"This is only the beginning."

He stepped forward.

The Hermes Boots propelled him across the grass in a blur.

Toward the shelter.

Toward the next stage.
