**Prologue**
In a bustling metropolitan city... a young man who looked to be in his twenties stood on the side of the road, absorbed in his phone.
His appearance was completely ordinary—a face you could find among thousands of others.
He blended in unnoticed among the crowd waiting for the red light at the roadside.
The situation seemed busy yet peaceful... until a high school girl, clearly too impatient to wait, decided to cross the street.
Right as the red light turned on, she rushed forward without looking around, weaving through the people.
The young man playing on his phone glanced at her briefly, but his attention was suddenly pulled away by the sharp screech of tires.
Following his gaze, a fully loaded truck came barreling down the road at high speed. The driver inside looked panicked, sweat pouring down his face.
He shouted desperately from within the vehicle.
"Get out of the way—! The brakes are gone!"
The young man glanced over. His body moved on instinct. He shoved the girl hard toward the sidewalk. But he himself had no time to escape.
A loud crash echoed.
His body was hurled far through the air. Blood spilled across the asphalt. The world around him began to fade into darkness.
In the final seconds before consciousness slipped away, he still managed to see the high school girl's face staring at him with wide, terrified eyes...
And a strange voice echoed in his head:
[System has been bound.]
[Reincarnation initiation starting...]
....
'Dark and silent.'
That was the only thought in Leon's mind right now.
This place was strange. He could only see endless darkness with not a single speck of light. He couldn't even feel his own body, as if he no longer had hands, feet, or any physical form.
Leon didn't know how long he had been here, but he knew one thing: he had died, hit by that truck while saving the high school girl.
At first he felt regret—dying so pointlessly, with none of his dreams ever fulfilled. But after a while, he quickly calmed down.
After all, on Earth he had been nothing more than an orphan with no relatives or parents. No one would miss him if he died.
When boredom began to set in, he suddenly felt drowsy for some reason.
"Wait, what's happening?" he muttered in confusion as his awareness started to fade.
"I..."
