"The fuck are you doing here?" I said before anyone else could say a word. "You've got no standing in this court. You weren't called. You're not a witness. You shouldn't even be inside this bloody room."
"I came with Warwick," Calista said it casually. Then she smiled, calm as ever. "I've been sitting quietly in the back. I only wanted to say one thing before you left."
The head of the Night Court leaned forward. "This chamber has not called you to speak."
"I know." Calista gave a polite nod. "But I only need a moment."
"No," I snapped. "You need the fucking door."
She ignored me. Her eyes settled on me with a stilled look. My stomach tightened.
"It concerns Alpha Gray," she said. "I'd rather say it now, in front of everyone, rather than have it come out some other way later."
Every bastard in the chamber went quiet. I could hear my own heartbeat.
"Then spit it out," I said. "And make it fucking quick."
She smiled. "Alpha Gray has a mate."
