Chapter 3 - The Night That Changed Everything

It was 2:17 AM…

Everyone in the house was asleep. A faint breeze moved the curtains near the window. Everything felt normal… yet something inside me was restless.

I picked up my phone.

The screen suddenly turned on by itself.

My heartbeat started racing.

There was a message from an unknown number—

"Do you really think everything is under control?"

I quickly looked around… the room was empty.

"Who sent this?" I whispered.

Before I could reply, another message popped up—

"Mistakes don't disappear just because you hide them…"

My hands went cold.

Why would someone say that…? What mistake?

Then—

tick… tick… tick…

The sound of the clock on the wall suddenly felt louder… like every second was warning me.

I turned off the phone and walked toward the window.

Outside… complete darkness.

For a moment, it felt like someone was standing in the street… watching me.

I narrowed my eyes to see clearly…

But there was no one.

"Just my imagination…" I muttered.

As I turned back—

My phone vibrated again.

This time… it was a photo.

I slowly opened it…

And the moment I saw it—

My breath stopped.

It was a picture of my room.

My bed… my surroundings…

And in that photo—

I was sleeping.

My grip on the phone loosened.

"How… is this even possible…?" my voice trembled.

I immediately turned around—

The room looked exactly the same.

But there was one difference.

In the photo…

Near my bed…

There was a shadow.

And now—

There was no shadow in the room.

My mind started going numb.

Then suddenly—

"Turn around…"

A whisper came from right behind me.

My blood froze.

I slowly turned my head…

No one.

Just… the mirror.

I stood in front of it.

I looked at my reflection—

Something felt wrong.

My reflection…

was smiling at me.

While I… wasn't.

"What the—?"

Suddenly, the mirror began to crack—

CRACK!

I stepped back in shock.

My phone vibrated again.

Another message—

"Do you remember now… what happened that night?"

Suddenly, flashes hit my mind—

A dark road…

Heavy rain…

Someone… lying in front of me…

Blood.

I shut my eyes tightly.

"No… I didn't do anything…" I shouted.

But a voice inside me whispered—

"You can't run from the truth…"

My hands were shaking as I picked up the phone again.

One last message appeared—

"I'm back."

Below it…

A live location.

I opened it.

And my soul froze.

The location was my own house.

That's when I understood…

This wasn't a prank.

Someone was watching me.

Someone knew my past.

And the most terrifying part—

Maybe I don't even know the truth about myself.

Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew—

The window slammed shut—

BANG!

The room fell into darkness.

And in that darkness…

I heard that voice again—

"The game has begun…"

And that night…

my life changed forever.
