Chapter :1 The New House
Abinash had always believed that some places carry memories. Not good ones. Dark ones. The kind that stay hidden in walls in corners in silence. When his family first stood in front of the new house some thing felt wrong. The building was tall and narrow , painted in a dull , fading colour that looked like it hadn't been touched in years. The windows were dark even though it was afternoon. No birds sat on the roof. No dogs barked nearby. It was too quiet. "Why is it so cheap ?" Abinash asked.His father avoided eye contact. "Old House.People don't like old houses." That wasn't real answer. As they stepped inside the wooden floor creaked under their feet. The air smelled like dust and something else.... something damp,like it had been closed for too long. Abinash felt in immediately.
That strong feeling - like someone was already there. Watching.
