# Chapter 9. A Woman of Doubt

"What's wrong with him?"
Junhui approached Jinju as she frowned and grumbled.
"So, you still can't get in touch with your mother? Well, I’m sure you will soon."
He chuckled and scanned the café garden.
‘Is he reconsidering buying the café? Why is he looking around like that?’
“I knew it.”
Junhui muttered to himself, then smiled contentedly as he gazed at the fire pit nestled between the garden and the café wall.
"What is it?"
"An old lady with grey hair asked me to buy these for cheap on the way here.”
He opened the black plastic bag in front of Jinju, revealing over ten sand lances.
She used to eat these fish as a child, back when her dad would grill them in the garden whilst her mom was still at work.
Judging by the quantity, it was unlikely that they would have been cheap. Perhaps the old lady had cleared out her entire stock to a young man who seemed rich.
"She said they have spawns since they’re in season."
"So…?"
