On their way back, Shion noticed a cotton candy vendor standing by the roadside, the bright colours of the sweets dancing under the sunlight as if they were calling out to her. She suddenly stopped, her eyes lighting up with childlike excitement.
"Wait... I want to buy one!"
Shiyoung looked at her in surprise, a faint smile forming on his lips, mixed with disbelief.
"Are you serious? That's for kids."
She raised an eyebrow, her tone calm yet carrying a hint of playful defiance.
"And what's wrong with going back to our childhood sometimes?"
He let out a quiet sigh, as if giving in.
"Fine... but be quick, before anyone sees us."
She frowned slightly, confused.
"Why? Did we do something wrong?"
He looked away for a moment, a hint of tension in his voice.
"No... just hurry."
She smiled softly.
"I'll get you one too."
But suddenly, his voice rose sharply:
"No! No... just hurry."
She stepped back a little, slightly annoyed.
"Alright, don't shout."
Moments later, Shion returned holding the cotton candy, happily eating it like a child who had just found her favourite treat. Shiyoung watched her silently, his eyes following her without her noticing.
Deep inside, he murmured to himself:
"This girl... she's like a child."
He paused for a moment, as a strange feeling slowly crept into his chest—something unfamiliar, something he had never felt before.
"What is this feeling...? It's... strange."
