Tokai Teio arrived at the training ground early again, happily humming her made-up "honey drink song." She had made it a habit to show up well before everyone else, partly because she liked being first at everything, but mostly because it gave her a chance to spend time alone with Tang Han.
Following Rudolf's advice, Teio had developed a "little sister strategy." Since Tang Han seemed soft on cute younger-sister types like Urara and Rice Shower, she decided to act more like an affectionate younger sister around him: asking for small favors, staying close to him, and trying to make him naturally accept her presence.
To Teio's surprise, the plan had been going very well. Tang Han almost never refused her requests. He made her honey drinks when she asked, gave her sensible training advice, and even tolerated her leaning against his shoulder while he read. Although she couldn't understand much of the difficult books he read, he would patiently explain them whenever she asked. Over time, Teio stopped merely pretending and genuinely began to want Tang Han as an older-brother figure.
That day, she followed the faint honey scent from his clothes and found him reading in the usual spot. She greeted him cheerfully and had already decided to take things one step further by sitting in his lap while reading with him.
But when she arrived, she found that someone had beaten her to it: King Halo was already sitting at Tang Han's right side, looking very pleased with herself.
Teio felt a stab of jealousy. She greeted King Halo stiffly, then immediately sat on Tang Han's left side, leaned against him, and wrapped herself around his arm. The moment she touched him, she felt calmer and more secure, so she clung even tighter and rubbed her cheek against him.
Tang Han, meanwhile, was instantly terrified. He was already used to Teio leaning on his shoulder, but this was clearly more intimate than before. Worse, she seemed to be holding his arm firmly enough that he couldn't escape.
King Halo was displeased and asked Teio whether she was getting too close. Teio responded that this was perfectly normal because she already thought of Tang Han as her "real older brother," so this level of closeness between siblings was natural.
King Halo demanded that Tang Han confirm whether that was true. But Tang Han had already been frightened into a mental shutdown by Teio's clinginess and entered a full panic state, unable to answer at all. Both girls took his silence as agreement.
Teio was delighted, believing Tang Han had effectively admitted he already saw her as his little sister.
King Halo, however, absolutely did not believe Teio's motives were that innocent. She became jealous and irritated. Even if Tang Han was not officially her boyfriend, she still hated seeing another girl act so close to him. In a fit of possessiveness, she copied Teio: she grabbed Tang Han's other arm and leaned against his other shoulder.
That left Tang Han trapped between the two girls, each clinging to one side and glaring at the other with open hostility. Teio and King Halo silently competed, tightening their hold and shooting sparks at each other with their eyes.
Tang Han, caught in the middle, could only panic internally and wonder if he was about to be torn in half. He desperately wished for someone—anyone—to come save him from being "split by two horse girls."
