Two weeks until the sports festival
Shinomiya Kei POV
Sora-san, Shiro-san, Yuuichi-kun, Light-san, and I are currently scouting our opponents for the sports festival. Finding out exactly what they are capable of and what to expect. The others are doing the same with a different group.
We arrived at the soccer field and there we saw a lot of students doing their own training. I think I saw some of the Class B students there. Mostly from the information I got, some of the Class B students are athletic in their own way but the best out of all of them at least from the information we got was Shibata So who is considered a good soccer player which explains why he can run pretty fast.
"Well, this is quite boring" Sora-san said
"It may be but it's better to know our opponents before we begin after all" Light-san said
"Yeah, but watching them train is kinda boring, come on Kei let's report back to Kiyotaka" Yuuichi-kun said sounding disinterested
"Yeah, you're right, I mean we could take them on if we wanted to. Besides I'm physically stronger than any of them remember?" I said while smirking
"Yeah, but Kiyotaka beat you in the grip strength test remember?" really Sora-san? I can feel a smirk forming in his face as we speak.
"Yeah, so what? I'll just pump a few weights and I'll pass him in no time"
"Don't get too overconfident now" seriously you too Shiro-san?
"She's right, who knows, Kiyotaka could beat you in a fight if he wanted to" Light said trying to tease me.
"Seriously what are you guys even saying?" I asked slowly getting pissed off
"We're just messing with you, seriously I thought you can take a joke Kei?" Yuuichi-kun said
"*sigh* alright I get it"
"But seriously I really don't think you can beat him" Sora-san you son of a-
"Huh?"
We all stopped as we noticed that there are also other students preparing for the sports festival as well aside from Class B.
"Hold on those are the senpais right?" Yuuichi-kun asked pointing at them
"Yeah, looks like it" Light-san said
While looking at the senpais' training sessions, I noticed a blonde boy who was leading the charge among them.
"Should we take look a little closer?" Light-san asked
"Of course, we will" we will I said as we went to the field
We noticed that the blonde boy was in control and getting everyone in shape. He didn't notice us, so we kept walking until we saw a just sitting next to the field playing video games. Wait I thought we're preparing for the sports festival not a gaming convention.
"Hey sis, look" Sora-san said while pointing at the girl
"She knows what she's doing am I right?" he asked while nudging his sister
"I noticed, it's a Gameboy advance, so she's into gaming as well?" she asked
"Seriously? everyone is taking this sports festival seriously and there's someone playing video games?" Yuuichi-kun asked
"Well, I don't know her reason but let's at least talk to her" I suggested as the 4 nodded and headed towards the girl.
"Hey"
"hmm?" she looked at us as she took her eyes of her game
"Would you mind telling us why you were playing video games in the middle of practice?" I asked
"Well, I don't often do physical activities unless I have to, but you could say that I was just taking a break" she said
"Ohh I like her already, see Kei, we should have a video game breaktime whenever we train" Sora-san said
"I agree with Nii" Shiro also spoke
"*sigh* man you guys suck sometimes anyways what's your name and class?" I asked as she stood up.
"My name is Nanami Chiaki of Class 2-A"
"2-A?" Yuuichi-kun said
"Ohh yeah you're a second year along with them, right?"
"That's right" she replied
"Anyways I'm Shinomiya Kei, and here's Katagiri Yuuichi, Sora, Shiro, and Yagami Light" I said as I introduced her to my friends
"We're from Class S" I added
"Class S? so does that mean you know Ayanokouji-kun?" she asked
"Hold on, you know Kiyotaka?" Light asked
"Yep, we met awhile back"
"I see"
"So, you play video games too huh? that's cool" Sora-san said while smiling
"Do you want to join us if you have the time?" Shiro-san asked, wait are we seriously just inviting someone who we don't know about?
"Umm, sure you guys play video games too?" Nanami-senpai asked
"Breaktime's over Nanami" before we could continue the conversation, a voice was heard, and the blonde boy walked towards us
"Nanami, get back to running or I might just break that Gameboy of yours, again" he said
"hmph, fine but don't even try Nagumo" she said as she puts her Gameboy back to her bag and joined the rest who were training.
"Ohh I'm sorry, can I help you?"
"We're just wandering around pal no need to be that alarmed" Sora-san replied
"It looked like you guys are spying on us" he said
"Spy? what makes you say that?" Yuuichi questioned
"Because I'm aware about the likes of you Class S"
"So, you know about us good for you now tell us who the hell are you?"
"Gladly, I'm Nagumo Miyabi of Class 2-A. Class representative and the vice president of the student council"
Vice president? so, this means that he knows that president that Kiyotaka fought before.
"Well, I don't intend to be rude, so I'll also introduce myself. I'm Shinomiya Kei of Class 1-S. Class representative and a genius"
"Genius? you? don't make me laugh kouhai" trying to mock me huh? trying to be the clown, are we?
"Besides if you want to chat with the likes of me then prove it here at the sports festival, see which one of us is better" he said
"A challenge Mr. Vice president? You know that we would gladly accept" Sora-san said as he walked up to Nagumo.
"Good, I hope you don't lose. try to put up a fight. I don't care how special your class is. I'll defeat you no problem" he said as he walked away from us.
"What's his deal?"
"I don't know Yuuichi-kun but his overconfidence will be his downfall" I said
"So, he's the vice president huh?" Light-san said
"Yeah, I don't know what he's on about but there's no way he can beat us" I said
"You got that right, but I don't think we should underestimate our opponents. Who knows what he's capable" Yuuichi-kun said
"Don't worry about it, guys, I told you didn't I. Class S is an unstoppable force. We went through every exam like it was nothing, so it's not going to change from here" I stated
"Yeah, you're right, I mean you are a genius, right?"
"Of course, I am. Besides, we have some info on the senpais now so that's already helpful to us" I said
Looking at Class 2-A, they are quite good but nothing crazy in particular aside from their arrogant leader and vice president Nagumo. But what I did catch my eye is the other senpai. Nanami who even though she was busy playing video games earlier, she is running pretty fast on the field. It looks average but she runs surprisingly fast. I guess that it's not just our own year that we have to watch out for but also those of the 2nd and 3rd years. They might just be interesting to deal with. But I know in my mind that even they can't beat us.
