Ayanokouji POV
It's already the 6th day on the island since there's not much that happened the 3rd and 4th day. As for the 5th day however, this is a summary of the things that happened:
1. Koenji Rokusuke from Class D according to Karma and Akise when I told them to visit Class D's camp retired after 3 days from the exam due to him getting sick. I doubt that is the reason but given his narcissistic nature, he wouldn't bother dealing with his own class. As well as an unwanted guess in Ibuki Mio in which they recognized is from Class C. They're screwed if they don't deal with her. the only one there from Class D who was suspicious was surprisingly Sudo.
2. Class C all retired from the exam and went back to the ship. This adds to the report of Karma and Akise on the fact that they overheard a conversation from Class D that Class C retired, and they said things like "what were they thinking" and "that was a bad idea on their part" but they don't realize that whatever Ryuen is planning, he still has those three people that he sent to find the leaders. Hiyori wouldn't be a problem but those with Ibuki who was with Class D and Kaneda with Class B, they might already be planning on figuring out the leaders.
3. Katagiri and I already secured the other spots on the island and at the same time we stumbled upon where the beach where Class C was and Ichinose and someone named Kanzaki were both there. We told them that we're curious about how Class C retired. Ichinose said that she couldn't guess their leader now due to their retirement, but with the information that Lelouch gave us. I think that I already have a guess on who Class C's leader is.
4. Speaking of guessing leaders, for Class A, I had Yumeko, Sora, and Shiro to go to their camp which was the cave nearby. They told me that instead of showing themselves, they hid by the trees, and they told me that a green haired boy named Yahiko was the leader. How did they guess that? well they overheard a conversation between him and Katsuragi. It seems that Katsuragi said that they'll think he's the leader given the obvious hierarchy of that class but in reality, he had Yahiko to be the leader since they wouldn't be able to suspect him being the leader. Class C was easy since it would obviously be Ryuen given that he's the most likely candidate given that Lelouch gave some added information that Ryuen had radio transceiver himself and seeing that Hiyori had a radio transceiver herself, I was already convinced that it is Ryuen. As for Class B, I decided to tell everyone not to deal with them since they wouldn't be a threat unless someone like Hikigaya makes his move. Finally, Class D, it's quite tough to say but I assumed it would be Horikita, but I've heard that there was a rumor of a mystery student from Class D, I haven't seen his face or even encountered him yet but my guess that he could be the leader but I none of us know his identity, so we left Class D alone as well since they could crumble on their own anyways and we have the most spots occupied on this island so it's better that if we didn't take the chance to guess who it is.
It's the 6th day around 9:43 in the morning and something went down.
"Hey Ayanokouji-kun!" someone called me out and it was Kaguya
"Want to play volleyball with us?" she asked
"Sorry but I'm not interested." I replied
"Ohh c'mon Ayanokouji-san just relax a little and have fun, I know it's an exam and all but if it's an exam revolving around doing whatever you want, then it's fine" Kei explained
"I told you I-"
"C'mon Ayanokouji don't tell me you're afraid of losing?" wait when did Katagiri started talking like that?
"I'm not" I replied
"Then join us, 5-vs-5 and we need a final member" Karma said
"*sigh* alright I'll join in"
"Great!" Kei said while giving me a thumbs up and smiled.
It was a 5-vs-5 volleyball game, the net was already set up by Kirigaya and surprisingly Oreki, I guess somehow Kei managed to convince him again to help them and another surprising thing is that Oreki wanted to be the referee. I guess he finally decided to use his energy, that's quite the development.
The first team consisted of myself, Karma, Shirogane, Ryuzaki, and Tatsuya while the other team had Kaguya, Light, Yuuki, Kirigaya, and Kei. Looking at my line up, I can tell that Karma and Tatsuya would be physically strong, same with Ryuzaki despite not looking like it and the fact that he's only played tennis, Shirogane on the other hand looks quite nervous, has he never played volleyball before or is it because his girlfriend is on the opposing team? On the other team, some of them are quite athletic especially Kei since even though he's good at basketball but I've never seen him play volleyball, however when he gets competitive, he can get quite excited sometimes.
"All right Karma's team will start first" Oreki said while sitting on a foldable chair.
"I'm placing my bets on Ayanokouji's team" I heard Sora said
"No, I think Kaguya's team will win since they do have a weak link there" Akise said as he pointed to Shirogane.
"Hey! what do you mean by that?" Shirogane shouted
"Did you forget what happened the last time you played volleyball?" Kaguya said
"I-I know but I've gotten better the last time"
"Doubt it"
It was quite entertaining to see them bicker and have fun like this. I wish I could experience joy like this but either way we started the game.
Ryuen POV
"About time you arrived" I said impatiently. Both Katsuragi and my unnamed assailant which I'll nickname "Unknown" since he wouldn't bother saying his name, from Class D has arrived. Guess it's time to get to work.
"Alright Ryuen, here" he said as he gave me his card which contained the name of the leader.
"Now you have to put your end of the bargain" he said
"Calm down baldy, here" I also showed him my card he inspected it to make sure there isn't anything strange. He's really cautious about this and I don't blame him
"Alright gentlemen I guess it's time for our little payoff" Unknown said
"Alright now all we need is....good timing Ibuki, Kaneda" I said as those two who I sent to Class D and Class B respectively arrived.
"Wait where's Shiina-san?" Ibuki asked
"I guess Hiyori must've failed, but it doesn't matter, what matters is that you have their cards as well." they nodded and gave me the cards.
"Well then this means our contract is complete."
"All's well that ends well, good thing I managed to help these two get away with those cards. Had to burn Class D's camp and provided a small distraction for Class B" Unknown said
"You did a good job"
"Thanks, but I'll be on my way now" he said before walking away from us.
??? POV
I walked around the forest contemplating about the things I've done such as helping Ryuen, or so he thought.
"*grin* how pathetic you are Ryuen" I said to myself as I had the photos of the cards with the real name of the leaders instead of the one that Ryuen and Katsuragi got.
"You puppets played right into my hands"
If you're wondering what I'm talking about it's simple. Yes, I knew about Ryuen making his deals with Katsuragi and decided to join in on the fun. The leader of Class D was of course Horikita Suzune but in reality, I already replaced the name of the leader with my name since I let Horikita retire from the exam, thus according to the rules, if a leader is retired, they are allowed to choose a new leader as long as it is for good reason and it so happens that Horikita succumb to a fever which I took advantage of. As for Class C, I already know Ryuen was the leader. Class B the leader was Shirinami Chihiro, and Kaneda managed to get the name by finding the card while everyone was asleep. Of course, I followed where he's going and stopped him, I gave him a fake card and told him to show that instead. He refused at first but manipulated him into doing it because if he doesn't then I would've broken his bones right now, he agreed not wanting to be left here injured so he took the fake card and gave the real card to me. As for Class A, Katsuragi already gave me the name which was Yahiko, but I told Katsuragi to deceive Ryuen by giving him a fake card, he refused but I told him if he does then I won't reveal that mole I was talking about within Class A that is also working with Ryuen. He hesitated at first, but I told him it will benefit Class A in the long run. He agreed and I gave him the fake card.2
In short, I never intended to help Ryuen in the first place. Yes, I would end up giving Class D the edge, but Class D is but a means to an end. My real goal isn't to win this exam....
