Their mom was in a terrible condition due to the attacks brought upon her by the mutant creatures. Max on the other hand was in bigger trouble. He would soon run out of oxygen with the creature still active. They had no mode of transporting back and Daniel was not aware of the situation. He was still in the hospital waiting for a callback from the doctors. They took her to an operating room because the situation she was in was beyond medicine. The doctor came out with a disappointing expression on his face, not knowing how to tell Max the bad news.
Daniel with a worried look on his face, already knew that things weren't going to be good. The doctor told him that his mother didn't make it, the infection from the creatures were too great for her immune system but however his father had to be admitted in the hospital because the infection got to him too and he will take some time to recover. Daniel just froze in place, realizing that the incident was his fault because the only reason the creatures descended upon his parents' home was his presence. He asked for the hospital bill and paid it immediately. His dad will have to stay in the hospital for a few days but he stayed calm and collected about the death of his wife. Daniel didn't realize that Max had been gone for a long time and that he hasn't alarmed him about the mutant Tartigrade.
It's been a day now and Max was still stuck on the moon, barely running out of oxygen. Daniel couldn't wait around for his brother but he could not afford a space shuttle to go space so he had a plan.
Max and Daniel could only teleport a short distance at a time but he realize that if he could teleport a hundred kilometer per minute making it six thousand kilometer per hour, he could get to the moon by chance. He got hands on some oxygen tanks and a space suit since that is what he could afford. He didn't just get oxygen tanks for himself but also for his brother. Daniel was close to the mesosphere but it wasn't enough to boost him up to space. It took him a while but with a little effort, he crossed earth's atmosphere and made it to space. Teleporting took a lot of his energy knowing that he is going to need power to fight for whatever is waiting for him on the moon. The journey took a roughly two days but he was approaching the moon's orbit so he spawned his animals, merged them together and got into battle. By his surprise his animals spawned in even with the lack of oxygen and even better the mutant creature was dormant, trying to rehydrate itself so the coast was clear. Daniel brought out the extra oxygen tank and gave it to Max. He was weak but was okay. Before they left, Daniel didn't for get to blast the creature to death but with his mind full, he didn't think to inform Max about their mother's death.
