The main character, Shizo, is 20 years old. A fairly tall university student. He has no friends, no family—no one is waiting for him, and no one thinks about him.
Morning.
Shizo slowly opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling for a few seconds.
"…Another boring day," he muttered quietly under his breath.
He got up, walked to the window, and opened it.
A cold city wind immediately hit his face.
The city was living its usual peaceful life… or maybe even a good one. Cars moving, people walking, children playing.
But then—
Something shot across the sky.
"…What the—?" Shizo squinted.
The next second, the sky cracked.
A massive blood-red dome began forming over the city, blocking out the light.
"…Is this some kind of prank?.."
The dome fully covered the city.
And then it began.
The Attack
From the dome, something started slowly descending.
Tentacles.
One. Then dozens. Then hundreds.
They pierced through windows, roofs, walls.
Screams.
Shattering glass.
"What the… what is happening?!" Shizo stepped back from the window.
He saw a tentacle in the neighboring building pierce straight through a person.
Blood.
The scream suddenly stopped.
"No… no… this can't be real…"
Shizo staggered back, breathing heavily.
And then—
The surface of the dome turned into something like a screen.
A picture of him appeared on it.
"…What?"
From one of the tentacles right outside his window, a mouth slowly formed.
And it spoke.
"This person… is a murderer."
"W-what?! Wait! That's not me!"
"All deaths… are his fault."
"You're insane!! I didn't do anything!"
Shizo looked around in panic.
"This is a mistake… this has to be a mistake…"
BANG!
His apartment door was violently kicked open.
Shizo turned his head.
At the entrance stood his neighbor.
In his hand—an unusual knife, almost magical. His eyes were wild, bloodshot.
"…It's you."
"Wait! No! You're misunderstanding!"
"You killed them… my family."
"I DIDN'T KILL ANYONE!"
"Then…" the neighbor stepped forward slowly, "die."
He suddenly lunged forward.
"Shit!"
Shizo barely managed to block the hand holding the knife.
They started struggling.
"Wake up! It's not me!"
"Shut up and die!"
The neighbor forced him to the ground and climbed on top of him, squeezing his throat.
"Die…"
