Chapter 11 - Lanka

11th November 2049.

A cold Thursday morning in Leipzig, Germany. Draupadi and Sankarshana had been exploring this beautiful city since Sunday. "Indrajit does have some art sense", Sankarshana thought. Just past St. Nicholas Church, Sankarshana parked his bike in front of a twelve storeyed building with a board that read "Lanka Labs".

Nag and Indrajit welcomed them by giving a pair of floaters. Seriously, the 12 floors are not meant to be reached by stairs. Sankarshana, who had left his sneakers outside instinctively, as if he was entering a sanctum, found it easy to wear, while Draupadi struggled to remove her high-heels. Indrajit knelt down and helped her. Sankarshana was startled. He hit Draupadi's head saying, "A mother of two, yet needs someone to wear new shoes." Indrajit chuckled," That's not a problem at all, when you're so talented that the largest game studio in the world needs you." Draupadi blushed and said, "You guys take up Raghav's job of teasing me, when he is not around."

The four of them went to the twelfth floor, passing through eleven floors of AGI humanoids wrecking their keyboards. Sankarshana asked Nag, "Why is this weird name? You people normally name everything after your ancestors right? 'Vikram Labs' is not that bad." Nag laughed and replied,"Indrajit won't come under your stereotype, I guess. He wanted to locate it in Sri Lanka, 'cause doing so would give him the satisfaction of reviving a sunken economy. That tendency is in his genes. But Jay won't allow him to be that far away from him. Even then the brand name doesn't deserve a change."

Indrajit started his presentation on the holo-homogram (a hologram with five senses). He detailed his description on the most prestigious and ambitious project of the Lanka Labs - Project D. An app that gives the users all possible dopamine from every source - games, streaks, short videos, jokes, AI chats, validative messages, etc., all at zero cost. "A visual narcotic", Sankarshana thought to himself.

Draupadi was very much impressed by Indrajit's clarity on such a leap. She readily agreed for a 3-year contract. But, Sankarshana didn't feel the same. Nor did he want to break Draupadi's only route to emotional balance. Sankarshana knew for sure that if he withdraws, Draupadi would do so. After giving it a long thought, Sankarshana said, "Maybe this is not my kinda thing, you know. I'd better be a third-party support than a direct contract." Indrajit knew that he can't force or impress him with his eloquence.

Thus was incubated Project D, by the best hens possible.
