"Why are you here, angel?" Lucifer drawled coldly, though there was no amusement left in his voice. "Miss me?"
"Merely observing," Eve replied coolly. "And waiting for the right moment to eliminate your kind."
Her gaze briefly flickered toward Raven.
Lucifer raised a hand lazily, and a massive black sword materialized out of thin air, knocking Eve's spear aside with a loud metallic clang.
The force pushed Eve a step backward.
She slowly spread her arms, and the waves of holy light around her faded, disappearing together with her massive wings.
In an instant, she returned to her elegant human form—radiant, graceful, and annoyingly composed.
"So," she asked sweetly, smoothing her sleeve, "what exactly have you been doing lately?"
Her eyes settled on Raven.
Raven straightened slightly but did not release Missy from his hold.
His arm was still wrapped firmly around her waist.
Eve narrowed her eyes ever so slightly at the sight.
