Will and Jaden went to Orchid's home. At the exact moment they arrived, they saw Liza getting out of the house. She gently closed the door.
When she turned, she was startled by Will's and Jaden's stare.
She awkwardly raised her hand into a wave.
Will waved back.
" What're you doing here?" Will asked.
Liza glanced at the door and then at them.
" Uhm... Visiting. No... Investigating."
" Did you find anything?" Jaden asked.
" Ehh?"
" Did you, find, anything?" Will repeated.
Liza simply shrugged as she gestured to the door, seemingly telling them to go check for themselves.
Will simply shook his head and entered. Jaden just remained in the same place , expressionlessly looking at Liza.
No matter how much Will scrutinized the house, he couldn't find anything. Nothing worth calling an evidence.
" Ahhh..." He sighed in disappointment , and prepared to leave. Just as he was a few steps from the door, he noticed a small purple flower in the corner. He slouched down and picked it up.
He examined it, and instantly knew what it was.
Dreamshade.
A rare herb that was used to refine one of the deadliest drug. A drug that created illusion and confusion. The drug was banned for centuries hence unknown to most of the young generation.
But he just couldn't help knowing.
It wasn't his fault he had read too many herbal books in his life. And as far as he can remember, he knew the herb was once grown in the village that was near to his birth village.
He tilted his head doubtfully as he smelled it just to be sure.
Meanwhile,
Liza was already sitting down, playing with whatever was in her hands, while Jaden just walked about the compound trying to find anything suspicious .
" On your left." Liza told him.
Jaden first turned to her, and then to his left.
Nothing.
He looked down. There was a single opal earring. Jaden could tell at first sight that it cost a considerably high amount. He picked it up and looked at Liza as if wanting an explanation.
" I was just staring at you, happened to look on the ground, saw it." She explained.
Jaden nodded towards her, and then walked to the door.
Before Jaden could push the door open, it was opened from the inside.
Will got out.
All eyes were asking, ' You found anything?'
Will just smiled, " Of course no."
Jaden shook his head in disappointment.
" Raven would rather spend all her income on wine rather than on this thing. " Will commented scrutinizing the earring as they walked home.
" You're right." Jaden said. Then they all looked at Liza as if waiting for a comment. Noticing the looks, she awkwardly nodded a couple of times after glancing at the earring.
" What about that lady? Orchid's mother." She asked.
Will shook his head. " I don't think she liked expensive things... Didn't you see the way she dressed? Really simple."
There was a moment of silence.
Liza spoke up, " The two ladies, witnesses...."
" What witnesses? Those guys just im..."
" Shut."
" Fine."
" Can we go check on them?"
" Great idea."
The two ladies were stall keepers.
They asked them a few questions only to get nonsensical answers in response. And none of them was pierced.
Disappointed, they continued on their way.
" I wonder what investigators are actually doing about this case." Will complained.
" Sleeping." Jaden answered.
" I am not sure if you're blind or what, but they actually want Raven to remain the culprit. So even if you could find a dozen of evidences, she didn't kill her; wastage of time." Liza looked tired after saying such a long sentence.
Will looked at her amazed and made up thumbs up with a wide smile. " You're actually bright. I will invite you on my wedding."
" Find a bride first."
" It is not that hard. I'm handsome, good character. Girls throw themselves at me."
Liza gave an awkward laughter. " You're right."
" Exactly."
Will patted Liza's shoulder.
Since it was already late and past dinner at the pavilion, the three of them chose to stop by a restaurant before going home. Eniva's and Orchid's death was the story everywhere.
" I heard that ' Raven' was a pavilion performer!! " One man said out aloud.
The whole restaurant seemed to be engaged in the conversation.
" You didn't know?!
" Where on this earth are you living?!"
" I heard she is or was such an innocent looking..."
" Ughhh,... Those are more hypocritical... I hope she faces eternal suffering."
The loud noise went on.
Will clenched his fist as he heard their conversation and immediately joined.
" Why don't you all..." Shut up.
" Quiten down?"
" Who are you... Oh I know him, he hang out with that witch."
Will immediately snapped back, " Who are you calling a witch?"
" Who other than that slut?"
" Take that back?!"
" Will, sit down."
Will became angry. He approached the man, " I say, take, that,..."
" I refuse."
Enraged, Will immediately threw a punch at the man.
The man shielded his head with his hands. The punch didn't land.
Jaden had already caught Will's hand. Will glared at him. "Let me beat this son of a garbage pit up!"
" Let's go."
" Not until I beat...wai_"
Jaden pulled him out. Seeing the situation, Liza also rushed outside.
" Let. Me. Go!" Will said trying to escape from Jaden's grip.
He let go of him. Will corrected his clothes, sucked in air and started cursing at people in the restaurant.
" YOU BUNCH OF USELESS PIECE OF... useless..."
Will stopped, " Does any of you know some newly invented curses?"
Liza shook her head.
Jaden only sighed. " Why don't you invent some yourself?"
Will gave a bitter smile, " Too bad I'm not that bright."
