S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters

Inside the tri-winged arc building, many high-ranking officials had gathered—Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Phil Coulson, Melinda May, Black Widow, Alexander Pierce, Crossbones, Sylvester, and others.

Nick Fury spoke first. "Since everyone's here, let's begin."

"Yes, sir!"

Acting as moderator, Maria Hill stepped forward. "Thirty minutes ago, a fierce battle broke out in a national forest park. Please watch the footage."

The lights dimmed, and a video began to play.

Due to the shooting angle and the limitations of a phone camera, the footage was shaky and blurry—but even so, it instantly captured everyone's attention.

"A-Team, full firepower!"

"Where's the .50 caliber sniper rifle? Fire! Open fire immediately!"

Following General Ross's command, soldiers unleashed heavy machine guns and large-caliber sniper rifles, pouring bullets toward the Hulk.

But to everyone's shock, even .50 caliber rounds couldn't penetrate his skin—it was like scratching an itch.

What kind of monster was this?

Was he really made of flesh and blood like a human?

A .50 caliber bullet could tear through even a dinosaur due to its cavitation effect—yet it did nothing to him.

Was he some demon crawling out of hell?

Although everyone had heard of the Hulk two years ago, those were only rumors. Nothing compared to the impact of seeing it firsthand.

The battle continued.

Hulk roared and charged forward, flipping over an armored vehicle with a single swing. He stopped a speeding armored car with his bare hands, lifted it effortlessly, and used it as a weapon—smashing another vehicle to pieces in just a few strikes.

He even hurled vehicles like shot puts, destroying targets at a distance with terrifying precision.

When two sonic cannons fired simultaneously, their immense output could even overturn the powerful Blonsky unit—but they only managed to suppress Hulk for ten seconds before he tore them apart.

Gunfire, explosions, the Hulk's roars, the screams of wounded soldiers—the battlefield was engulfed in chaos. Helicopters crashed and exploded, flames lighting up the sky, pushing the intensity of the battle to its peak.

When the agents saw Hulk shielding Betty with his own body, several female agents were deeply moved. Despite his brutal appearance, there was undeniable tenderness within him.

Was this a real-life version of Beauty and the Beast?

Even Natasha, a hardened operative, couldn't help but admire Betty's courage. Not everyone had the bravery to love a "monster."

The male agents also praised Hulk—protecting a beautiful woman in danger, that was what a real man did.

For a moment, they even found themselves worrying about him.

When the flames finally cleared and Hulk stood unharmed, still holding Betty, everyone silently let out a breath of relief.

But agents were still agents—their thinking remained different from ordinary people.

The video ended. The lights came back on.

No one spoke. Everyone frowned, deep in thought.

S.H.I.E.L.D.—the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division—was created to handle extraordinary threats. That included not just supernatural events, but anything that could endanger global security.

And something like the Hulk clearly fell within their jurisdiction.

That was exactly why everyone felt uneasy.

Hulk possessed immense strength, massive size, incredible speed, terrifying jumping ability—and he was immune to fire. Even sonic weapons barely worked.

No blind spots. No obvious weaknesses.

Could they really deal with something like this?

Agents weren't superheroes. They didn't drive supercars or save the world in flashy battles. Their strengths lay in infiltration, incitement, assassination, and intelligence gathering.

In direct combat, they knew they wouldn't fare better than trained soldiers.

Maria Hill adjusted the projection. "The Hulk, real name Bruce Banner, is a genius physicist with seven PhDs. Two years ago, he was exposed to gamma radiation during an experiment. The angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes. His upper limit is unknown. His blood is also highly toxic and infectious."

Nick Fury spoke again. "If anyone has suggestions on how to capture the Hulk, speak freely."

Silence.

No one wanted to take responsibility for such a mission.

Some avoided eye contact entirely. Even Pierce looked half-asleep, as if he had Alzheimer's.

Fury shot Coulson a look—Aren't you supposed to help me out here?

Coulson broke into a cold sweat. There was no way he could handle something like Hulk.

After a long pause, he said awkwardly, "If Captain America were here, it'd be great…"

Fury stared at him.

Captain America has been missing for decades…

Natasha raised her hand.

"Go ahead."

She said, "The Hulk has incredible defense and strength, and he's immune to fire and sonic attacks. Do we know if sedatives or toxins would work?"

Fury shook his head. "According to General Ross, they're almost completely ineffective."

Natasha continued, "What if we use them before Banner transforms? For example, a Barrett round from a few meters away?"

Fury replied, "Any pain, fear, or anger triggers the transformation. Even if Banner is still human, a fatal injury would just cause him to turn into the Hulk—and once transformed, his wounds heal almost instantly."

Everyone fell silent again.

So… no weaknesses?

Then what was the point of this meeting?

At present, the only known superheroes were Captain America and Iron Man.

Captain America was missing. And Iron Man? His weapons probably wouldn't last five seconds before Hulk tore him apart.

Fury rubbed his temples. The military had already issued a warning—if S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn't handle the Hulk, the council might reconsider the agency's existence.

Natasha suddenly said, "Director, maybe we should ask that person. There might even be a 'movie' about the Hulk on their side."

"Movie?"

Some agents looked confused. Others—those with higher clearance—fell into deep thought.

Fury sighed and nodded reluctantly. He didn't want to involve her.

A being from a parallel universe… arguably more troublesome than the Hulk.

But they had no other choice.

"I'll leave this to you," Fury said. "If you succeed, I'll approve six months of leave and a $300 million bonus."

"Thank you, Director!"

Natasha smiled brightly.

Helping the boss solve problems—that's what a good subordinate does.

Besides, compared to facing the Hulk directly, asking Rimuru for information was far easier—and far more profitable.

Success meant a huge reward. Failure cost nothing.

Around the room, everyone felt a mix of envy and resentment.

At the same time, they couldn't stop wondering:

What exactly did 'that movie' mean…?

And more importantly—

Who was 'that person'?

Meanwhile, Alexander Pierce, who had just been pretending to be half-asleep, suddenly opened his eyes slightly.

Behind that seemingly dull expression, countless thoughts were already racing through his mind.
