Long Island Villa

Rimuru stared at the long string of numbers in her bank account and felt like she had ascended straight to heaven.

So cool! This is amazing!

During this trip, she not only saved that violent little girl's father, but also eliminated the major scourge Frank Amick.

Most importantly, she made a lot of money.

"The early bird catches the worm. Hard work really is the only way to get rich!"

With a goal in mind, Rimuru suddenly felt that her life was no longer aimless—it was full of motivation.

Although the bank balance was just a series of numbers, to Rimuru, it felt incredibly real.

"Let's set a small goal first. Next, I'll be able to afford cake whenever I want!"

Try your luck, and your bicycle might turn into a motorcycle. Take a gamble, and that motorcycle might turn into a Range Rover. As long as you're bold enough—

…Actually, never mind. Being bold won't help. Forget it.

Who would have thought that just going on a trip could earn enough money to cover the cost of a supercomputer and mech materials?

If it weren't for the fact that the AI Aya was far ahead of its time, Rimuru would normally have had trouble even spending money.

But after Aya completed her operations, the money had completely "disappeared" and become legitimate income.

That's the convenience of digital currency. On the internet, Aya is an absolute monarch.

Now that she had money, it was time to meet Tony Stark. She still needed to find him to obtain high-end materials and weapons.

As life went on and plans took shape, Rimuru's goal was to sell a new type of elemental reactor to Tony Stark—and collect royalties from him!

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters – Triskelion

Agent Hill handed a document to Nick Fury.

"Director, the Department of Defense has just sent a notice requesting that we disclose the identity of the Silver Armored Warrior to the military."

Fury raised an eyebrow. "Did Rimuru do something?"

After observing her for a while, Fury had formed a basic understanding of Rimuru's personality.

This "Earthling" was relatively gentle and friendly—unlikely to deliberately provoke the military.

Hill reported, "At approximately 2:27 a.m. last night, the military detected a silver-armored figure flying across the night sky. Shortly afterward, the NYPD discovered a shooting incident with a total of 19 casualties."

She briefly summarized the situation, including the malicious live broadcast of the crime online.

"Out at 2 a.m. saving people…" Fury frowned. "That's not a good sign."

From the public's perspective, people saw a silver-armored hero saving civilians from criminals and performing heroic deeds.

But Fury sensed something else—Rimuru wasn't as calm as she appeared.

Hill continued, "The military has long been interested in humanoid mech technology. They've repeatedly pressured Tony Stark to share it, but he has consistently refused."

Even threats of forced requisition had failed due to Stark's influence and connections.

Fury rubbed his temple. "So now they're targeting Rimuru, right?"

"Correct."

It made sense. At present, only three advanced armored suits had appeared publicly: Mark, Iron Overlord, and Wind God. The Overlord had already been destroyed.

The most mature and battle-tested ones were Mark and Wind God.

Mark belonged to Tony Stark, who was too powerful to be coerced. But there was more than one advanced suit in existence.

"Idiots. Short-sighted fools!" Fury cursed.

Do they really think Rimuru is easy prey?

Her displayed abilities alone were enough to shock the world:

Unknown anesthetic gas Extreme temperature resistance A massive "stomach space"

Especially that last one—it could hold at least a lake's worth of water. If pushed too far, what if she flooded New York?

And was that really her limit?

Fury knew better than to assume so.

Not to mention, her intelligence had impressed even Tony Stark.

If Rimuru truly came from a parallel Earth 500 years in the future, how advanced would her technology be?

The technological gap across centuries was enormous—let alone millennia.

How could short-sighted politicians possibly comprehend a civilization capable of interstellar travel?

Hill was visibly surprised to hear Fury swear.

Even as a Level 9 agent, she hadn't expected him to take Rimuru so seriously.

Fury concluded, "Don't worry about this anymore. I'll handle the military."

"Yes, sir."

"Anything else?"

"Yes, Director. There's another report from the police. It's… strange. You should take a look."

Fury opened the file—and his expression quickly darkened.

"Hill, you're dismissed. Send Barton to my office."

After she left, Fury rubbed his temples again.

Was it just him, or had being Director become much harder lately?

(If Rimuru were here, she'd tell him: "No, that's not your imagination. This is just the beginning.")

When Barton entered the office, Fury didn't waste time. He tossed the NYPD report in front of him.

After reading it, Hawkeye was completely baffled.

"That wasn't me. I didn't do it. Absolutely not."

He raised his head seriously.

"Sir, you know me. Using a bow for close combat is an insult to an archer. I, Clint Francis Barton, would never use a bow like that!"
