Chapter 15 - New Year - 2 (M)

"Welcome to my apartment."

Linn smiled awkwardly and looked around. It was simple, just like the space she lived in, but the objects scattered around the rooms made it personal and cozy. The building was filled with medium-sized apartments, mostly intended for students: a living area, a kitchenette, a decently sized bedroom, and a bathroom. The bedroom had a small balcony, just large enough to hang laundry or set up a little table with a couple of chairs.

"Linn?" Wendy called her from the kitchen, smiling when she walked in. "What were you doing? Did I tell you that you could snoop around?"

"No! I wasn't—"

"I'm kidding, Linn! You're really cute when you get embarrassed."

Wendy grabbed her hand and led her to sit at the kitchen table, then opened the fridge and asked what she preferred to drink. "I have some wine if you want more. Plus, we'll have to toast soon."

"Oh, alright..." Linn glanced at the clock hanging on the white kitchen wall: it was eleven o'clock; indeed, it wasn't long until the toast. A few hours earlier, she never would have imagined finding herself in a situation like this. Wendy had invited her into her apartment, and perhaps it wasn't crazy to wonder if she had done it to make a move on her. For Linn, the attraction she felt toward Wendy was undeniable, but would she actually go through with it?

"You look lost in thought again... is that the alcohol kicking in?"

Wendy handed her the wine after filling the glass halfway, then looked at her for a second. "Now that I think about it... why don't we sit on the sofa? It would be more comfortable."

The sofa truly was comfortable, and when Linn took her seat, Wendy didn't hesitate to close the gap between their bodies. She rested a hand on the musician's knee and smiled at her, before dedicating herself to sipping from her glass. Linn soon realized that the alcohol had started to take effect; in fact, she found the courage to grab Wendy's hand and squeeze it. The girl didn't say a word, simply setting her wine glass down on the side table next to the sofa, before doing the same with Linn's glass.

"Wendy?" Linn watched her, confused and simultaneously fascinated by her movements. When Wendy cupped her face, she didn't hesitate to follow her lead, and when she kissed her, she returned it passionately. She had missed that softness, and it was incredibly pleasant to lick her lips and taste the wine straight from her mouth. The musician brought her hands to Wendy's waist and caressed her hips, her touch lingering on her body.

"Linn..." She panted against her lips and pulled back to take off her hoodie, leaving her in just her bra. It was pink lace: the sensuality of that image took Linn's breath away, and she stared at her for a few moments.

"How about taking off your jacket to start?" Wendy's sexy, slightly raspy voice could have convinced her to do absolutely anything.

"I don't usually... I don't—"

"Shh—" Wendy pressed a finger to her lips, silencing her. "I know. Neither do I... But I really like you, and I want you."

"I want you too." Linn kissed her fiercely, deciding that, for once, she could just let go.

The two young women surrendered to passion, shedding their clothes in the frenzy of an attraction as sudden as it was inevitable. Wendy and Linn didn't even notice the minutes ticking down to midnight, too distracted by exploring each other. They soon realized how uncomfortable the sofa was, and when Wendy complained about it while tangled in Linn's arms, the latter picked her up and carried her to the bedroom. Wendy hadn't hesitated to point her in the right direction, attacking her lips the entire way.

When Linn crashed into the bed, they tumbled onto the mattress, holding each other tight. They were both down to their underwear and burning up, eager to lose all control. Wendy admired her body, biting her lower lip, then reached out to slip her fingers under the elastic of Linn's panties.

"Take them off." An order whispered and overflowing with carnal hunger.

Linn wasn't one to submit easily, but she complied. As soon as she removed the remaining fabric covering her body, she grabbed Wendy's hands and pulled them away from her skin.

"You've been in control all night... Now it's my turn." While holding her wrists with one hand, she used the other to slowly strip off her underwear, reverently appreciating the sound of the fabric brushing against that soft, pristine skin.

Wendy panted, staring at her with pure desire. Linn looked so sexy in that moment; she wanted to make her hers right then and there.

The musician dedicated herself to worshipping Wendy's body: leaving marks wherever she went, exploring those delicious inches with slow caution. She lingered on her lover's firm breasts, covering them in kisses, biting, licking, sucking at her skin. Wendy's nipples were hard and ready for her, but her intimacy also betrayed the desire that had consumed them. When she slid her hand down her torso, she felt the shivers she had provoked. She obliged the woman who was begging to be touched, to be taken.

"Please, Linn... come on, don't be shy."

Linn chuckled and locked eyes with Wendy. "Do you still see me that way, even now?"

At first, Wendy didn't understand, but her mouth fell open when she saw Linn kneel in front of the bed, grabbing her legs to position herself between them. She brought her lips close to her core and darted her tongue out to explore it: as soon as she touched Wendy, the latter gasped sharply and lifted her hips.

"Linn... Linn... more."

Linn's tongue licked her entrance and soon slipped inside her, provoking a flood of warm, enveloping sensations. Wendy's voice filled the room, and both women completely forgot the possibility of having neighbors nearby. Most likely they were out celebrating, so what did it matter if they screamed and moaned like animals in heat?

"Oh! Yes, right there, Linn... good... good—ah... you, you have fingers that just—ah!"

Linn had replaced her tongue with her fingers, and Wendy was getting closer and closer to her peak. She felt a tension coiling deep inside her, a heat ready to explode... but she also wanted the control she had lost. She propped herself up on her torso and grabbed the back of Linn's head, crashing their lips together, devouring her mouth. She pushed her down onto the mattress and climbed on top of her, bringing her core flush against the musician's.

Linn shivered, moaned, and held Wendy tight against her. The two began to move together in a frantic rhythm, chasing that desperately craved release.

"Wendy—"

"A-are you close?"

Linn panted, staring up at the ceiling of the dark room. When she sensed Wendy was about to come, she sealed their mouths in a passionate, ravenous kiss.

"Linn... Linn..." Wendy went rigid against her body and collapsed on top of her, trying to catch her breath.

Linn's heart was beating incredibly fast—or maybe it was Wendy's. She felt so close to her, physically and emotionally. She didn't know how things would go from there, but she was happy she had let herself go and met a girl like Wendy.

Right at that moment, midnight struck, and the two students heard fireworks going off in the distance. They wouldn't be able to see the lights from the bedroom, but they felt no need to join the rest of the world to celebrate, because they were perfectly content right where they were. Wendy shifted, settling down next to Linn, before burying her face in the crook of her lover's neck and wrapping an arm around her waist. She let out a happy sigh and closed her eyes.

The musician wondered if she was on the verge of falling asleep, but soon Wendy's sweet, faint voice reached her ears.

"I go to your university. I used to do ballet, but I dropped the program a few months ago and enrolled in a different major."

Linn waited a moment to see if she wanted to keep talking, and when she didn't, she asked her why she had quit dancing.

"I knew I would never be the best. Besides, it was starting to hurt... it wasn't the same anymore. I loved dancing, it was like breathing to me. Maybe you can understand; I imagine it's not exactly easy for you musicians either."

Linn nodded and grabbed the sheets at the foot of the bed to pull them over their bodies. She pulled Wendy back into her arms and looked into her eyes: she didn't look sad, but it reminded her of the look she saw in her own mirror. It was full of uncertainty, sometimes desolate, and a little vacant.

"There have been times when I told myself I should just drop everything. It would be so easy to just pick a major that guarantees a secure job and leave music behind, but... I can't do it. I love music."

Wendy smiled and reached up to cup her face, caressing her cheek. "I really like this side of you. You're passionate, you're one with what you believe in. You are music. You probably feel a bit like me... a little empty." She placed her hand flat against Linn's chest, listening to her heart. "But your heart is alive; it beats for you, it beats to keep you breathing, to keep you going so you won't give up on your passion. I had lost even that, a while ago... my heart didn't rejoice anymore when doing what I loved."

Linn kissed her sweetly: it had nothing to do with the fierce passion that had united them just a little while ago. It was a gesture of comfort, of empathy; she wanted to take away that pain she had seen flash in her eyes.

"I'd like to see you dance someday."

"Then you'll have to play for me."

"Deal."

Wendy chuckled softly and caressed Linn's skin, tracing lazy circles on her chest. She felt comfortable in her arms, safe, and that was something she hadn't expected. She decided to reveal another secret to the musician, making herself vulnerable once more.

"I actually already knew who you were."

Linn furrowed her brow. "Oh, really?"

Wendy kissed her cheek and smiled at her tenderly. "I saw you around campus... I liked you from the very beginning..."

Linn didn't see that coming. "How is it possible I never noticed you?"

"Mh, I don't know. There's a lot of people—"

"If I had seen you, I wouldn't have forgotten you easily."

Wendy playfully bit her neck, smiling. "Since when are you this smooth? You're good at this..."

"Maybe I was just playing the shy card to make you fall into my trap."

"And yet you walked into my lair of your own free will."

"And I'm really glad I did." Linn kissed her until she was breathless, the intense desire to devour her and make her hers over and over again returning in full force. She had never believed in love at first sight, nor in the ability to feel so serene and happy with a complete stranger. And yet, tonight, she had been forced to accept many new truths.

"We started the new year together... isn't it mandatory that we continue it together?"

"Mh, maybe you're right."

"I'm often right."

"Silly. Kiss me."
