"I remember something," Tanzila said.
Tanvir looked at her.
"What?"
Her voice trembled slightly.
"This isn't the first time."
Silence.
"You've done this before," she continued.
"Destroyed everything."
"And you?" Tanvir asked.
"I stayed."
"Why?"
She hesitated.
"Because I believed you could change."
Tanvir laughed softly.
"That was your mistake."
"Maybe," she whispered.
"But I'm still here."
He stepped closer.
"Even now?"
"Yes."
"Even knowing I'll end everything?"
Tanzila nodded.
"Even then."
For a moment—
Something flickered in his eyes.
Not humanity.
But recognition.
"I used to love you," he said quietly.
Tanzila smiled sadly.
"You still do."
Tanvir didn't answer.
Because he didn't know anymore.
