Chapter 119 - Chapter 119: Morning at the Kotomine Residence

After a day and two nights, Souya brought Morgan back to their villa on the outskirts of Sighisoara.

"I am so tired..."

As soon as he returned, he could not help but collapse face-first onto the sofa.

Although it seemed he hadn't done much in the recent chapters, counting carefully, he hadn't rested since accepting Amakusa's dispatch to meet Jeanne.

Successively experiencing the battle with Siegfried, multiple Servant assassinations, and his Heroic Spirit transformation, Souya's body wasn't physically exhausted, but mentally, he truly wanted a good sleep.

Given his physical parameters and mental strength, these were actually nothing.

But as a human, he always felt that these normal ways of living were highly meaningful and did not need to change.

"Do you need me to cast a sleep magecraft on you, Lamorak?"

Seeing this, Morgan—who was originally a bit jealous of Souya's interaction with Jeanne—stopped thinking about it. Her attention was entirely drawn by the faint exhaustion revealed in Souya's tone.

She sat down beside Souya and moved his head onto her lap.

"No, Morgan. Having you accompany me is the best way to relieve fatigue."

Feeling the faint, elegant fragrance belonging to the Queen entering his nose, a smile surfaced on Souya's lips.

"You always have words to please me."

Hearing Souya's words, a smile bloomed on Morgan's flawless face.

In front of Souya, she never wore the veil that covered her face. Precisely because of this, Souya always felt that Morgan's smile and beauty belonged completely to him alone.

And that was indeed the truth.

Gently leaning down to plant a kiss on her lover's lips, Morgan looked at the TV Souya had casually turned on, which was broadcasting a food channel, and then looked at the kitchen where the lights were on.

After thinking for a moment, she spoke to Souya.

"Do you want to eat something? Lamorak."

"Hm?"

Souya was momentarily stunned, but quickly understood Morgan's meaning.

Although he felt a bit astonished that his wife knew how to cook, Souya certainly wasn't stupid enough to reject Morgan's goodwill.

He smiled softly and answered under Morgan's expectant gaze.

"Sure. I am actually a bit hungry too."

"Then I will go make it for you."

Before Souya could finish, a joyful expression appeared on Morgan's face. She sat up from the sofa and went to the kitchen.

Watching Morgan's skipping movements, which completely contradicted her aura, Souya could not help but smile.

Love truly is a somewhat magical thing.

Even an aloof Queen like Morgan would show a girlish side when interacting with her lover.

Thinking this, Souya's sleepiness faded. He sat up from the sofa, absently watching TV while reviewing the results of tonight's events.

Plot-wise, he saved Siegfried and sent Sieg away. Judging by Jeanne's final demeanor... he had probably succeeded in preventing her from becoming a biased referee like in the original work.

As for other aspects, based on Achilles and Atalante's reports, the enemy Berserker had changed from the adorable Frankenstein's Monster of the original work into Penthesilea, the Amazon CEO who swung a morning star and shouted "Achilles" at any male she saw.

Though Souya felt the CEO was actually quite cute too.

But since the opponent was Penthesilea and Achilles was on his side, why was Achilles able to return safely?

Given the CEO's personality, shouldn't she have fought him to the death?

Also, why were Achilles and Atalante looking at him so strangely when they returned?

Especially the former. Souya wasn't sure if it was an illusion, but he felt that ever since Atalante attacked him, Achilles had been looking at him with a hint of admiration.

After tonight, it had almost turned into worship.

This made Souya feel both at a loss and a bit terrified. After all, Achilles hailed from Greece, a place with no shortage of bizarre drama... There was no guarantee he didn't have hidden tendencies in that regard.

Besides him, Souya also noticed Atalante's gaze toward him continuously changing. From the initial resentment—like looking at an irresponsible husband—it had gradually turned into the sharp gaze of looking at prey.

With the system playing dead, Souya felt he should find an opportunity to talk with this Hunter Miss.

As for Kriemhild, who returned with him, her gaze was also strange, but overall much better than Atalante and Achilles's.

So, what kind of grudge match is this...

Souya sighed involuntarily.

"Eh?"

Right at this moment, Souya noticed an advertisement flashing on the TV.

Instinctively remembering something, Souya hurriedly got up to check the mailbox at the front door.

In the kitchen, Morgan was frantically adjusting the heat according to a breakfast tutorial she had seen in a book not long ago.

According to the book, to fry a steak with the best flavor, the pan's temperature had to be perfectly controlled. But clearly, heat control could not be achieved with magecraft.

Otherwise, Morgan would not be so flustered.

Souya found what he wanted in the mailbox.

Taking the box containing the item out, Souya returned to the villa just in time to see Morgan carefully placing plates on the table.

"Come try it, Lamorak! See how I did."

Seeing Souya approach, Morgan became somewhat nervous, but maintained her Queenly reserve as she pointed at the food on the table.

Souya looked at the dining table.

The plates held a simple European breakfast: toast, pan-fried steak, fried eggs, and a glass of specially heated milk.

Purely based on presentation, Morgan had done very well.

Smelling the aroma of the food, Souya felt his appetite stir. He sat down at the table and handed the box in his hand to Morgan.

"This is?"

Seeing the beautifully packaged box, a trace of curiosity appeared in Morgan's eyes.

"Clothes for you, Morgan. Didn't we agree earlier? Because we never had the time, I called a clothing store in Sighisoara this afternoon and asked them to deliver one."

Souya smiled softly at Morgan.

Perhaps due to his habits as Lamorak, he remembered everything Morgan said clearly. He remembered perfectly that Morgan had casually asked him to pick out a piece of clothing for her the previous morning.

Morgan was stunned, but an indescribable warmth quickly surged in her heart.

Especially when her azure eyes met the deep smile on Souya's lips, a hint of fluster was added to the mix.

"T-Then you eat first. I will go try these clothes on."

With that, Morgan practically fled into the bedroom, making Souya smile in amusement.

We're basically an old married couple; why is she still so shy?

Thinking this, he used his fork to pick up a piece of steak and placed it in his mouth. But upon feeling the bizarre texture transmit from his mouth to his mind, Souya fell silent.

Setting aside the fact that there is too much salt... Morgan, how did you manage to make it burnt on the inside and raw on the outside?
