Cherreads

Chapter 217 - Chapter 220: The Yoshikage Kira Template

"This'll do."

Natsuki surveyed the terrain below — empty rock and dust. No Konoha or Amegakure forces within range.

"Now."

He raised his hand.

Swords materialized around and beneath him — hundreds upon hundreds, a bristling constellation of steel hanging in the night air.

Nagato read the intent without a word. His Rinnegan pulsed.

Shinra Tensei.

Invisible repulsive force caught the entire arsenal and accelerated it downward — every blade now plummeting at terminal velocity, shrieking through the air like a bombardment.

"SCATTER!"

Gari looked up, and his face went white. The order tore from his throat on instinct.

The Explosion Corps was already moving — they'd heard the sound before the command reached them. Hundreds of blades screaming earthward at once produced a collective shriek that was impossible to miss.

They broke formation and sprinted outward.

But the spread was too wide, the density too thick, and there was nowhere to run that wasn't inside the kill zone. Seals flew. Counterattacks launched skyward in desperation.

Natsuki snapped his fingers.

Every sword detonated simultaneously.

Broken Phantasm.

The individual explosions merged into a single cataclysm — a churning storm of chakra and fire that swallowed the canyon floor whole. Screams erupted, then drowned beneath the roar. Bodies cartwheeled through the blast wave. Blood painted the rocks.

It wasn't over.

Konan raised the Sorcery Clima-Tact.

Weather Egg: Thunder Breed Tempo.

Thunderheads coalesced from nothing. Lightning cascaded down in forking sheets, striking everything that still moved.

Blood Demon Art: Wintry Icicles!

Yahiko thrust both hands forward. A barrage of ice spears materialized and rained into the survivors in perfect coordination with Konan's lightning — freezing what the thunder didn't kill, shattering what the ice didn't pin.

"Damn it—"

Gari hadn't expected his elite corps to be gutted in a single exchange.

His eyes locked onto Natsuki.

Retreat was the rational choice. But returning to Iwagakure with the Explosion Corps annihilated was a death sentence of its own kind.

Earth Release: Earth Core Tectonic!

The ground surged upward beneath him, a pillar of compressed stone launching him skyward. At the apex, he kicked off with the Body Flicker and materialized directly in front of Natsuki.

His face was a mask of fury. He swung.

"Handle the rest of the Corps."

Natsuki waved Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko off — casual, unhurried — and met the punch with his left hand.

The fists connected.

Gari's chakra detonated on impact — a point-blank Explosion Release discharge. Fire and concussive force erupted outward, engulfing Natsuki entirely.

Armament Haki.

Natsuki stood motionless. The blast hit an invisible barrier and broke around him like water against stone. Not a scratch.

Gari's pupils contracted.

Tempest Kick.

A vacuum blade scythed toward Gari's midsection.

Body Flicker.

He dodged — barely — and dropped toward the ground. Altitude gave him nothing against this opponent.

Bakudō #61: Rikujōkōrō.

Natsuki gestured. Six rods of light descended from above, converging on Gari.

He sensed the danger instantly. Chakra erupted from every pore.

Explosion Release: Landmine Fist!

The detonation was enormous — the air itself warped in the blast radius. All six binding rods shattered.

Gari hit the ground, exhaling hard.

One second of relief.

Then the smoke was ripped apart from above.

Hadō #88: Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō!

A beam of condensed energy plummeted from the sky — vast, blinding, shaped like a dragon in its death dive.

Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!

Gari went pale. Defense was his only option.

Stone erupted skyward, forming a massive barrier.

The beam struck. The wall disintegrated. Gari slammed both fists into the ground.

Explosion Release: Defense Technique!

Another detonation — this one shaped outward, a shockwave engineered to intercept the remaining energy.

The collision churned the air into chaos.

Gari stumbled backward through the debris cloud, mind racing. Every instinct screamed at him to run.

Then his hair stood on end.

Pressure — immense, suffocating — rolled over him like a physical weight. The ground fractured beneath his feet. Rubble and dust blasted outward in every direction.

He looked up.

The night sky was on fire.

Five dragons hung overhead — each one impossibly massive, wreathed in burning chakra, staring down at him with eyes like dying stars.

Hadō #99: Goryūtenmetsu.

Natsuki dropped his hand.

The five dragons roared and dove.

Gari screamed defiance. Every remaining drop of chakra detonated at once — a fire dragon surging skyward from the blast, clawing toward the descending titans.

It met the first dragon and was extinguished like a candle in a hurricane.

All five struck.

The impact cratered the earth. The shockwave leveled everything within a hundred meters. Fissures split the ground in radiating fractures. Stone ninjas still fighting below were hurled from their feet, caught by flying debris, swallowed by collapsing terrain.

Konan, Nagato, and Yahiko rose above the devastation on Moonwalk, watching from altitude as the dust settled.

A bottomless crater occupied the space where Gari had stood.

What remained at the bottom was barely recognizable as human.

The surviving Stone shinobi died in the minutes that followed — broken, scattered, unable to mount any coordinated resistance.

The Explosion Corps was annihilated.

"I feel like I barely contributed," Yahiko said, scratching the back of his head.

Konan and Nagato wore matching expressions. Aside from the opening salvo and cleanup, Natsuki had singlehandedly dismantled the Corps' commander and the bulk of his forces.

Far away. A concealed position in the rocks.

"Wow wow wow!"

White Zetsu's eyes were saucers. "What kind of ninjutsu was that?!"

He monitored the entire shinobi world under Madara and Black Zetsu's orders. He had a working knowledge of virtually every major combatant alive. But this was something else entirely.

Uchiha Madara said nothing. His expression was closed, dark.

The situation had deviated sharply from his projections. First, Natsuki and the Amegakure trio had intercepted the Explosion Corps before it reached its target — meaning his entire setup was void before it began. Second, Natsuki's combat power was genuinely alarming. Gari and the Corps had been erased in moments.

His plan to kill Yahiko during the chaos was dead.

"Continue surveillance," he said evenly. "Wait for the next opening."

Privately, his interest in Natsuki had sharpened.

He'd dismissed the boy previously — no notable bloodline, no kekkei genkai worth mentioning. But that last technique... the power was staggering. And it was instant-cast. No hand seals, no buildup. Even the Five Kage would take critical damage if caught off guard.

The spatial fluctuations hadn't escaped him either. The swords had materialized from an alternate dimension — stored in advance, released en masse. That meant it was a finite resource. If Natsuki deployed it again immediately, the volume would be drastically reduced.

Space-time ninjutsu. Powerful, but not inexhaustible.

The Flying Thunder God was still more problematic, in his assessment.

"The opportunity is gone. We leave."

He withdrew with Zetsu in tow.

But Iwagakure would escalate after tonight. And escalation meant new openings.

Natsuki landed.

"Natsuki-sensei." Yahiko stepped forward. "Do we pursue?"

Gari had been the Stone's field commander. With him dead, their forces were leaderless.

"I have something better in mind."

Natsuki produced a map and pointed. "Wait for me at this position."

"Why there?" Yahiko leaned in, curious.

"The Stone's main camp is just beyond that ridge." Natsuki smiled. "If we're pressing the advantage, we press it all the way. We end this front tonight."

He'd pinpointed the camp's location weeks ago, during his raids with Guy's squad. Observation Haki's sensing range was, for practical purposes, limitless.

Of course, the war wouldn't end. Crushing two thousand shinobi would only provoke a larger deployment. Ōnoki wouldn't let this stand.

But that was tomorrow's problem.

"Understood!" Yahiko's energy surged. "We'll head back and mobilize now!"

"Take the shortcut." Natsuki opened an Air Door.

The three stepped through.

Natsuki opened a second door and returned to Konoha's main camp.

"Everyone — full assembly at the gate, immediately!"

Zo scrambled to deploy every Anbu messenger.

"Natsuki — what happened?" Mikoto appeared at his side.

"Good news. Gari is dead."

"Then — counterattack?" Realization dawned across her face.

"Mm. Let's go."

They reached the assembly point. Konoha shinobi were already pouring in.

Natsuki laid out the situation in concise terms: the Explosion Corps was destroyed, the Stone's commander was dead, their main camp was within striking distance.

Silence — then an eruption of cheers.

He raised his hand. The noise cut.

Celebration came after victory, not before.

The column moved out at speed. They linked up with Amegakure's forces en route.

"Three minutes' rest."

Natsuki met briefly with Yahiko while the troops recovered, then gave the signal.

Fifteen hundred shinobi — Konoha and Amegakure combined — surged toward the Stone's main camp.

The defenders knew they were coming. With this many bodies moving at this speed, stealth was impossible. But knowing didn't provide solutions. All they could do was dig in and pray for reinforcements.

Natsuki swept the camp's perimeter with a glance and raised his hand.

Swords erupted from the air in a broad wave.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

Every mine, every trap, every defensive measure surrounding the camp detonated harmlessly under the barrage.

"ATTACK!" Yahiko's voice carried over the battlefield.

Konoha and Amegakure shinobi launched forward, seals flying.

Inside the camp, a jōnin's voice cut through the chaos.

"HOLD THE LINE!"

Mahiru. One of the Stone's rare kenjutsu specialists — the same shinobi who'd wounded Hatake Kakashi at Kannabi Bridge in the original timeline. With Gari dead, field command had fallen to him.

In the treeline, far from the fighting.

"Lord Madara! This is our chance!"

White Zetsu was practically vibrating with excitement, watching the battle unfold.

Madara opened his mouth — and stopped.

Because Natsuki had just activated Unlimited Blade Works.

An endless cascade of swords materialized overhead, mingling with the combined ninjutsu of Konoha and Amegakure's forces, and descended on the Stone's camp like a steel monsoon.

The Stone's response was fast — earth walls rising in coordinated rows to shield the defenders.

Then every sword detonated.

Broken Phantasm.

The walls collapsed. The explosions merged into a single expanding inferno. Flames materialized from the detonation points and swept forward in a rolling wave, consuming everything in their path.

Screams and fire became indistinguishable.

The Konoha and Amegakure shinobi behind the bombardment fell silent — many of them seeing this for the first time. Then the silence broke into something electric, hungry.

With Unlimited Blade Works unleashed, the Stone's position was indefensible. The battle became a rout.

"Space-time ninjutsu." Madara's eyes narrowed.

He'd felt the spatial displacement the instant the swords appeared. They'd been stored in a separate dimension, pre-forged and stockpiled, then released en masse. That meant the technique was front-loaded — devastating on first deployment, but significantly diminished on immediate reuse.

Powerful. Not infinite.

In his assessment, the Flying Thunder God remained the more dangerous ability.

"The opening is gone." Madara turned away. "We leave."

Iwagakure's retaliation would be massive. Better opportunities would come.

Natsuki conserved his chakra after the opening salvo. The Black Grail held enormous reserves, but discipline was discipline.

The outcome was already decided.

He walked into the camp. A Stone shinobi rose from the rubble ahead.

Blood Demon Art: Wintry Icicles.

Several spears of ice materialized and pinned the man where he stood.

Natsuki kept walking. Raise a hand, flick a wrist — Stone shinobi fell in his wake. But he wasn't the spectacle tonight.

That belonged to Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan.

Their reputations had been confined to Amegakure until now. That changed in the span of minutes. Both sides — Stone and Leaf alike — watched them operate with open shock.

Nagato gestured, and entire squads went airborne. Yahiko walked through the camp wreathed in frozen wind, turning Stone shinobi to ice sculptures with a touch. Konan conducted a symphony of weather — wind, lightning, and rain spiraling around her in a controlled maelstrom, the Clima-Tact turning the sky itself into a weapon.

Natsuki let them shine. Their strength had reached a level where concealment was pointless.

The slaughter ended with the last of the Stone's resistance breaking.

The surviving Iwagakure shinobi — bloodied, broken, terrified — surrendered.

But the war wasn't finished. A thousand Stone combatants were still engaged at Konoha's three strongholds, unaware that their main camp had fallen and their reinforcements no longer existed.

"All combat-ready personnel — split into three groups. Relieve our strongholds." Natsuki's voice carried across the shattered camp.

"YES!"

The response was thunderous. Exhaustion was real, but the adrenaline of total victory drowned it out. If they crushed this last thousand, it would be an unprecedented rout.

Natsuki assigned command instantly: himself, Yahiko, and Mikoto — one per group.

The three columns moved out.

[You have awakened the Yoshikage Kira Template.]

Natsuki almost stumbled.

Who?

Yoshikage Kira?

The quiet salaryman who just wanted to live a peaceful life?

He rubbed his chin, thinking.

The trigger was obvious — he'd annihilated the Explosion Corps. Kira's Stand was fundamentally tied to explosions. And Natsuki's own finisher — Unlimited Blade Works channeled through Broken Phantasm — was, at its core, one massive chain detonation.

Explosion begets explosion. The logic tracked.

He pulled up the template.

[Name: Yoshikage Kira][Era: Final][World: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure][Rank: S-Rank]

[Ability 1: Killer Queen | UNLOCKED]Effect: Uses spiritual energy to manifest an autonomous Stand. Killer Queen can transform any object it touches into a bomb. Only one bomb may be active at a time; each object can only detonate once.

[Ability 2: Sheer Heart Attack | LOCKED]Effect: An autonomous sub-Stand separated from Killer Queen. A self-propelled armored bomb that tracks the highest heat signature in its vicinity and detonates on contact. Extremely durable — can only be recalled by the user.Unlock Condition: Learn Sage Art: Goemon.

[Ability 3: Bites the Dust | LOCKED]Effect: Killer Queen attaches to a designated host. If that host reveals information about the user, anyone who receives the information detonates — and time rewinds by one hour. Events that occurred before the rewind will still occur afterward, but in an unrestricted form.Unlock Condition: Kill a creature that has lived for over one thousand years.

Natsuki's first thought: he'd never expected to become a Stand-wielding shinobi.

Ability 1: Killer Queen. Kira's signature Stand — and in Naruto's framework, a pure Yin Release construct. An entity made of spiritual energy, invisible to the naked eye but detectable through spiritual fluctuations. Beyond its bomb-creation ability, it possessed respectable combat capability on its own.

Ability 2: Sheer Heart Attack. A heat-seeking autonomous bomb. Self-explanatory and devastating. The problem was the unlock condition — Sage Art: Goemon was a Mount Myōboku senjutsu technique. Natsuki had no contract with the toads. Theoretically, learning it should be impossible.

Ability 3: Bites the Dust. As with all space-time abilities, inherently broken. One-hour time reversal, triggered defensively. The activation conditions were strict, and pre-rewind events would still occur post-rewind — meaning you couldn't erase what had already happened. But you could use the loop to eliminate specific targets.

The unlock condition was equally daunting: kill a creature over a thousand years old. In the shinobi world, the candidates were vanishingly few. The Great Sages of the three Sage Regions. Ōtsutsuki Kaguya. Ōtsutsuki Isshiki.

A short list, and every name on it was a nightmare.
