Chapter 33 - brief visit to grandparents

"Shishh, don't worry because... I am here."struck an exaggerated heroic pose similar to All Might. Unfortunately, the effect was ruined immediately.

"Well," Saturo muttered while staring at his own creator , "great pose for someone with a stickman body, I guess."

A/n: Get lost, you white-haired fre—

Ahem.

Never mind.

Continuing onward—

Saturo pulled out four Pokéballs.

Inside them were Escanor, Ace, Rem...

And James's mysterious final Pokémon.

Carnivine.

Yes, Saturo had actually taken a detour after suddenly remembering something James mentioned before leaving. Apparently, James once said he had left one of his Pokémon behind inside a Pokéball.

(A/n: I still wonder how a psychic forgot that.)

"Shut up," Saturo immediately replied. "I wasn't in the mental state to deal with that at the time. I was too focused on his departure."

A/n: To put it simply, you weren't listening properly because James talks too much and keeps bragging about his achievements.

"That is also true."

Still, Saturo had not released the Pokémon yet.

Mostly because James never actually told him which Pokémon was inside the Pokéball. The idiot apparently wanted to keep it a surprise so he could dramatically reveal his "ultimate trump card" later. After several hours of traveling, Saturo finally arrived in the Hoenn region.

From there, he spent an entire day making his way toward the resort and daycare center managed by his grandparents—a retirement business that somehow also doubled as a Pokémon paradise.

Unfortunately, Saturo soon discovered a terrible truth.

He was lost. Horribly lost.

After checking the regional map several times, Saturo finally realized his grandparents' home was literally on the opposite side of Hoenn.

What should have taken one hour would now take almost two full days.

Silence filled the area.

Escanor looked at him with complete disappointment.

"Just accept it," he said calmly. "Without Mama, you can't even find your way home."

Ace and Rem immediately tried holding back their laughter. They failed.

Saturo slowly adjusted his glasses.

The atmosphere became dangerous.

Then— He teleported away without another word.

The next second, Saturo appeared several kilometers away on top of a random cliff.

The wind blew dramatically through his hair while his jacket fluttered behind him like he was some mysterious anime mentor.

Piccolo aura farming moment

He changed his clothes for the aura.

Unfortunately—

He lost all his aura the next second.

He had teleported in the wrong direction again.

Escanor stared at him silently.

Ace immediately looked away to avoid laughing.

Rem had already accepted that her trainer was mentally challenged when it came to navigation.

Saturo slowly looked around at the unfamiliar scenery.

Then back at the map.

Then at the scenery again.

"…This region is too big."

Escanor sighed deeply. "At this point, I genuinely think Mama raised you."

"Shut up."

Saturo finally stopped relying on instinct and used his psychic abilities properly for once, scanning the surrounding area for human settlements.

A few moments later, he sensed a nearby town.

Without hesitation, he teleported again.

This time successfully.

Well…

Mostly successfully.

Because the moment he arrived, he found himself standing directly in the middle of a crowded marketplace.

People screamed.Several trainers jumped backward instinctively.

One old man dropped his groceries.

A Wingull stole the old man's sandwich immediately afterward.

Ofc he found himself standing on the head of a snorlax who was fighting an trainer.

Saturo blinked once behind his glasses.

"…Oops."

"A psychic," someone whispered.

"No, that's definitely a ghost-type trainer."

"Why is there a child appearing out of thin air?!"

Saturo ignored the growing panic and simply first knocked out the snorlax with a hypnosis and procceded to calmly walked forward as if materializing in public was completely normal behavior.

Behind him, Escanor followed proudly while Ace and Rem tried pretending they did not know him.

Then—

Chomp. Silence.

Saturo slowly looked downward.

The unopened Pokéball hanging from his waist had suddenly opened by itself.

Attached to his head was a giant Carnivine.

"…."

"…."

The marketplace collectively froze.

Carnivine happily chewed on Saturo's head while making affectionate noises.

Saturo's voice came out muffled. "I understand now…"

Escanor tilted his head. "Understand what?"

"Why James abandoned this thing."

Carnivine tightened its bite affectionately.

"IT'S EATING MY BRAIN."

"A/n: Bold of you to assume there was much to eat."

Saturo "Fight me."

Unfortunately, Carnivine seemed to immediately recognize Saturo as James's brother because a certain someone would keep showing him photo's and bragg till he had to go in the pokeball himself. it refused to let go no matter what happened.

Even when Saturo used Psychic to pry it off—

it simply wrapped around him again like a starving koala.

Several nearby trainers stared at the scene with complicated expressions.

One little kid pointed excitedly.

"Mom! I want a Carnivine too!"

The mother immediately covered her child's eyes. "No, sweetie. We're not raising parasites."

Carnivine hissed at her proudly.

Saturo sighed in defeat before finally deciding to continue the journey while carrying the plant monster attached to his head.

Thus—

a strange group could now be seen traveling across Hoenn.

A dead-eyed psychic child.

A disappointed lion.

Two Pokémon trying not to laugh.

And one Carnivine aggressively claiming ownership over Saturo's skull.

End.

Saturo: you are forgetting something .
