Chapter 1 - The dramatic change of life

The rain in Seoul was cold and unforgiving, much like the betrayal still stinging in Y/N's chest. Just an hour ago, she had been the celebrated heiress at her own engagement party. Now, she was a runaway, her silk dress torn and her heels discarded somewhere in the dark alleys of Gangnam.

She had seen it all—her fiancé and her cousin, laughing as they discussed how to strip her of her father's company once the papers were signed. When she tried to confront them, they didn't apologize. They called security to "dispose" of her quietly.

*"She couldn't have gone far!"* a voice barked from the end of the alley.

Y/N's breath hitched. She stumbled toward the main road, her vision blurring. Just as she reached the curb, a sleek, matte-black Maybach hissed to a stop in front of her.

The back window rolled down just an inch, revealing a pair of sharp, piercing eyes.

"Help me," Y/N pleaded, leaning against the cold metal of the car. "Please... they're coming for me."

The car door opened. A man stepped out, ignoring the rain that immediately began to bead on his expensive tailored suit. He was young, but he carried an aura of absolute authority. His dark hair was swept back, revealing a face that was dangerously handsome.

This was **Jeon Jungkook**, the youngest CEO to ever dominate the Jeon Group. He was known for being ruthless in business and completely unreachable in his private life.

He looked at the men running toward them, then back at the shivering woman at his feet.

"Who are they?" Jungkook's voice was deep, cutting through the sound of the storm.

"My... my family," she whispered, her strength finally giving out.

Jungkook looked at the thugs, who had frozen in place the moment they recognized the Jeon crest on the car. Without a word, he reached down, his strong arms sliding under her waist and knees. He lifted her as if she weighed nothing.

"Mr. Jeon!" one of the thugs called out, his voice trembling. "That woman belongs to the Kim family. We have orders—"

Jungkook paused, his gaze turning icy. "She's in my arms now. That means she belongs to me. If you want her back, tell your master to come and ask me personally."

He didn't wait for a response. He placed Y/N into the heated interior of the car and slid in beside her.

"Drive," he commanded the chauffeur. "To the penthouse."

As the car pulled away, Jungkook stripped off his suit jacket and draped it over her trembling shoulders. The scent of expensive cologne and cedarwood wrapped around her like a shield.

"Sleep," he said softly, though his eyes remained fixed on the road ahead. "When you wake up, the world will be different."

Y/N closed her eyes, feeling safe for the first time in years. She didn't know it yet, but she had just traded a den of wolves for the king of the lions.Since the story focuses on the "Secret Marriage" trope where the male lead becomes the ultimate protector, here is **Chapter 2** featuring **Jungkook** as the powerful billionaire lead.

## Chapter 2: The Jeon Contract

Y/N woke up to the sound of silence—a heavy, expensive kind of silence. She was tucked into a bed so large and soft it felt like a cloud. The room was modern, filled with dark wood and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Seoul skyline.

Then, the memories of the rain and the man with the piercing eyes came back. **Jeon Jungkook.**

"You're awake," a voice said.

She gasped, pulling the silk duvet up to her chin. Jungkook was sitting in a lounge chair by the window, a tablet in his hand and a cup of black coffee on the table beside him. He had traded his suit for a casual black shirt, the sleeves rolled up to reveal glimpses of intricate tattoos on his forearm.

"Where am I?" she whispered.

"My penthouse," he replied simply, setting the tablet down. "My doctor checked you last night. You were suffering from exhaustion and a slight fever, but you're fine now."

"Thank you for saving me, Mr. Jeon. I should go..."

"Go where?" Jungkook stood up, his tall frame casting a shadow over the bed. "Back to the people who tried to kidnap you? Or to the fiancé who is currently announcing that you've 'gone missing' due to mental instability?"

Y/N froze. "He's... he's saying I'm crazy?"

"It's an easy way to invalidate your shares in your father's company," Jungkook said, his voice cold and analytical. He walked over and dropped a thick folder onto the bed. "I've had my legal team look into your situation. You're being backed into a corner, Y/N."

She flipped through the papers. It was all there—the betrayal, the forged documents, the plan to ruin her. Tears pricked her eyes, but she refused to let them fall.

"Why are you helping me?" she asked, looking up at him. "What do you want?"

Jungkook leaned down, placing his hands on the mattress on either side of her, trapping her in his intense gaze.

"I need a wife," he said bluntly. "My grandfather is pressuring me to marry to secure my position as the head of the Jeon Group. I don't want a socialite who will pry into my life. I want someone who needs my protection as much as I need their presence."

He pulled a small velvet box from his pocket and set it on top of the legal papers.

"Marry me, Y/N. In public, you'll be the invisible Mrs. Jeon. In private, I will give you every resource I own. My lawyers, my money, and my name. You want revenge? I'll give you the power to burn their world down."

Y/N looked at the diamond ring, then at the man who looked like he could conquer the world with a single word.

"And the rules?" she asked.

"One," Jungkook said, his thumb grazing her jawline. "You stay by my side when I require it. Two, you never lie to me. And three..."

He leaned closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Once you're a Jeon, you never let anyone lay a finger on you again. If someone slaps you, you slap them back twice as hard. I'll handle the consequences."

Y/N took a deep breath. The shy, broken girl from the night before was gone. She reached out and took the ring.

"Deal, Mr. Jeon."

Jungkook smirked, a look of pure, dangerous satisfaction. "Call me Jungkook, Mrs. Jeon. We have a lot of work to do."
