I couldn't help but be slightly surprised at how firm my words had sounded. Gu Ruiqing stared at me for a few seconds before speaking.
"Honestly, I don't know what happened between you and my daughter. But what you should know is that Wanqing isn't like other people." She paused. "She doesn't know how to show her emotions because she doesn't want to get hurt."
Well, that wasn't exactly an excuse to hurt someone else. Now was it? With a frown on my face, I continued listening to her story without saying a single word.
