Chapter 7 - Exempted Blood

They walked into the office building together, they sat by Manchester's office. They had the files scattered right in front of them. Clifford walked into the office, "We need to have a meeting, the 717 got a signal from an unknown supplier about the recent changes."

Manchester asked, "Who?"

Clifford replied, "An unknown source. He's not giving any answers and of course, I expect you to find out who it is."

Manchester's eyebrows furrowed. "Excuse me? Clifford? I don't think that command came from the government, did it? Where's the files anyway?"

"Files? What? I gave the order. Oh wait- Hold up for a minute. So you are saying I can't give you orders?"

"I'm saying I need the diplomatic method for this case. If we are going against a cartel from the deep dark of history. We should have a governmental document and some sort of back up and immunity. Shouldn't we?" He questioned.

Clifford suspended his hands on his waist for a moment in simple silence. No facial expressions and no form of physical contact either. He stared at Manchester first then back to the board. The suspense filled room made everyone uncomfortable in it. Manchester replied again, "I think I deserve a reply from you."

Clifford noticed his mental games didn't work. He turned back to the others like Manchester didn't exist. "And as for the teams, meet me in my office." He walked closer to the door, he stopped the moment he got closer to Manchester and then he said, "And now you'll see what real power looks like. You are off from this job and you can sit this one out. I don't want your over confident ass anywhere around my tents. You don't even need to be in this office. You are suspended for a month."

Clifford walked out of the office into the Blue Shield Chambers, a set of rooms used for official meetings. They gathered gradually, Clifford didn't speak until he noticed a large number of officers in the room. He waited for the silence before he spoke.

"Good morning everyone. Now as you all know, there's a case on our hands and the cartel has our location, and we have theirs. We've been having some trouble detecting direct contact with the leader of the cartel and from what I've seen, her name is Silver and her assistant is known as George. So we have to catch a woman and I don't think that's supposed to be easy. I mean you can't catch a butterfly easily. So what do we do?"

Pero raised his pen into the air. Clifford turned to him, "Yes? Go on."

"Well for a start, I've got lots of ways to catch her or him. We could use the infiltration method or we could use the coercion method, which would you go for?" Pero introduced.

"Who?"

"Well first we'll be needing Manchester."

"Absolutely not. He's suspended. He doesn't follow the rules. At. All." Clifford warned.

"I could go in then, maybe I'll try to go on the trip with Anika for the sake of the entire team. We don't need to have a major crowd around the scene, it'll draw attention. I need us to divide the issues amongst the files to ourselves and know which is which."

Clifford agreed. "That's a good idea. Let's look through the files and see if you and Anika fit first of all. Spread the files across, we need to look through all the videos and tell which to start with."

Andrew walked forward to the front, he turned the monitor on and played the first video. He laid low to stare at the video for a moment until he felt like this wasn't normal for the human eyes to even take a glance on.

"What is that? Is that drugs and blood? Acid? I mean, take a look at this." He lifts a finger pointing at the screen." Andrew waited for Clifford to say something but he was silent. It didn't make any sense.
