Merlin told them about his journey through the empty forgotten shore till he arrived at Civilth, he didn't say anything about Silver, just stating that he found the city through random walks.
Then he spoke up about how he was hosted by Thorax, and the reason he was hosted, and also how Thorax forced him to awaken, he explained to them that after his awakening, he got the ability to teleport, but he didn't go into details.
He continued to explain how he travelled after he left Civilth, and entered the rocky plains, the corrupted nightmare creature that blocked its exit, he then explained about him using his ability and a memory to escape the rocky plains.
As for which memory, he didn't say either.
He continued his story till he got to the desert, he had already told them about Azarax, so he simply said he learnt a few things from the mad Supreme, as for what those few things were, he didn't specify and just breezed over it.
He also didn't say much about Eurys, because he had no idea what kind of changes it would cause, seeing as he was part of the nine, he didn't know if the Sovereigns knew of the nine, but since they knew of Weaver and the Daemons, he had a feeling they knew of them too, so in that case he simply blurred Eurys and replaced his identity with another person.
He told them how Azarax went mad, and he went on a journey with the second person and after traveling for a while, he was able to find a nightmare seed that was just his rank.
Then he went on to describe his second nightmare, he didn't speak of Ariel, just how he lived a regular life, until he was drafted up for war, then he went on to describe the gruesome war, how he and Jeffrey managed to kill a Great Monster, and he fought a half-immortal Corrupted Demon, then he ended it with him winning by chance.
He finished with a smile and waited for them to start their questions.
"I understand your situation, and although I expected it, I'm still surprised by the amount of filtering done by the government" the puppet said with a calm voice.
"It's not really filtering, it's more of, I didn't tell them that much for the sake of publicity" he explained.
"I see… Now shall I begin to ask questions?" The puppet asked with a smile.
"Sure"
"Alright… the forest of Civilth, how did you know the name was called Civilth?" She asked.
"In a memory description of a fallen nightmare creature I killed" he answered calmly.
"And you said you journeyed through the forest till you came to a city, the City of Order, Karlax, is that right?"
He nodded, "yes that's true".
"And you just walked into the city, not caring about what dangers may be inside?" She asked, amused.
"Well yes, I was confident in surviving whatever, so I walked in" he answered shyly.
"And it turned out that whatever was a Cursed Terror's spawn…" he added.
"And Karlax, a city of Corrupted and Great nightmare creatures of different classes, and that city was still functioning?" The puppet spoke with a slightly surprised voice.
"It's functioning… not only because a Cursed nightmare is ruling it, it's mainly because of the rules that was placed on the city" he explained, "Karlax is a city built on order, the rules I explained during my story wasn't for show, it was something Thorax set up with his ability, the ability to impose rules on a person or a location, and if you include his rank and the citadel he holds, then the rules he imposes become more profound"
"So Karlax is built on his ability?"
"One of his many abilities, but yes, pretty much" he nodded.
"Now then… when you entered Karlax, Thorax took note of you and noticed your… constitution, and he decided to keep you alive?" She asked seriously.
"Yes, that's what happened" he answered truthfully.
"So his objective was to use you as a vessel to revive the Beast God?"
"That's what he said… I can't confirm the truth of his words, however I'm sure he didn't go out of his way to accommodate a sleeper out of charity" he chuckled.
Ki Song nodded and continued.
"And I'm curious, you only stated that he helped you awaken, but you didn't say how, I'm curious how did he achieve that?"
He shrugged, "I'm not really sure, one second he was stretching his hands towards my chest, the next, I'm waking up from a coma, two days later with an Awakened soul core, I have no idea what happened"
She sighed and accepted his explanation, after all, although it was complete bullshit, it sounded logical, and there's no way she could confirm that he wasn't telling the truth.
Would she meet Thorax?
No, not only is he an entire rank above her, he once served the Beast God, if she as much as shows her blood near him, only the dead gods know what he would do.
"Alright, so after you awakened, your ability, teleportation, helped you to escape from Karlax, and Thorax did nothing to stop you?" She asked curiously.
"He didn't exactly do nothing, but he didn't expect that I would be able to teleport, so I guess the element of surprise worked in my favour, and I just kept running and teleporting till I arrived the rocky plains, I don't know if Thorax gave up on catching me, or he didn't care, but after I left Civilth, he didn't show up again" Merlin explained his lies confidently.
"And after you escaped, you crossed the Rocky Plains with your abilities and arrived at the desert, where you travelled for a while before you met a Supreme from ancient times, bound to a tree" the puppet stated as she summarized his explanation.
"That's about it" he nodded.
"And you freed this Supreme… Am I right?" The asked in a flat voice.
"Well yeah, but we came to an understanding, I free him and he trains me" he explained.
"And he agreed?"
He chuckled.
"I suppose you haven't been stuck in a place for about a thousand years, at that point, I was his only hope"
"I see… so you were trained by this Supreme, Azarax, until he went mad?"
He nodded in agreement.
Ki Song nodded in understanding, "And why did he go mad?"
Merlin thought for a moment then explained.
"The thing is, on that desert, there's a strange phenomenon that occurs at night, during that period, immortal deathless soldiers rise from the sand, two different factions and they fight against each other till morning, then they repeat, again and again since the original battle started"
He paused to take a breath, then continued.
"According to Azarax, the reason they're are like that, is a curse from a god, I don't know which one…" he lied, "but he was a commander of one of the factions, so after I freed him, he would spend the day training me, and then the night fighting in the battle, however, after some time, he began to succumb to the curse too, and he went mad, but I don't really blame him, after all there were multiple Sacred Beings in that battle and they also succumbed to the curse"
After he finished, the castle was quiet for a few seconds, until Ki Song sighed and said.
"So after he went mad, you left with the other person who was bound to the tree? And you don't know anything about him?"
"He's not the talking type, he said his name was Ornn, but I knew that it probably wasn't the truth, but he still trained me, and unlike Azarax, he was on a journey to the underworld, so I just followed along till I found a nightmare seed" He covered his lie with another lie.
'Thank the gods none of them has a flaw like Kai…'
She nodded, "I understand, and after that came your second nightmare, where you fought a war against multiple nightmare creatures, killed a Great Monster, and also fought a half-immortal Corrupted Demon and won"
"Well that's how it went, although it was uneventful, I feel that most Awakeneds would not survive that situation… Neph might, but that's just because she's suited for that kind of stuff, anyone else… heh" He shrugged with a smile.
"So you mean to say you killed a Great Monster as an awakened?" She asked, slightly surprised.
"It kind of was on its last life, killing it was all I did, I'd didn't even fight it in the slightest"
She spoke in a verifying tone, "but you did fight the Corrupted Demon and killed it, is that right?"
"That one is true" he nodded.
"You said it was half-immortal, how did you manage to kill it?" She asked.
"It was hard, maybe one of my hardest fights yet, I lost an arm, my torso, maybe an eye, I broke a few bones, however I managed to turn the tide, I used a trump card of mine, and managed to finally kill it, after all it wasn't fully immortal, only half" He concluded with a smile.
"I see… though I'm curious, why didn't you use your trump card earlier, why wait till you're almost dead, if you used it earlier the fight would've been done before you got injured" the puppet asked with a wry smile.
'That's because my trump card is named Ariel and the activation code is your death… what was I supposed to do, commit suicide? I didn't even know of the trump card until after I died…'
Merlin swallowed his multiple words and answered calmly.
"It's not that I couldn't use it, I just didn't expect it to be impossible to kill, coupled with the fact that I was also mentally and physically exhausted, it's safe to say I wasn't exactly in the right state of mind to remember that I had a trump card that could solve the situation"
He sighed and continued.
"And even though I used it, you already know that it leaves me in a partially weakened state, so if I got any weaker, and I killed it and another one popped up, I was going to die… however, after I realized that I was going to die if I didn't use it, I simply just accepted my fate and chose to use the trump card"
Ki Song nodded in agreement with his words, "now… there's something I want to confirm, do you know the situation that occurred when you awakened?"
"Yeah… I heard" he nodded.
"And what do you think of what happened?"" She asked.
"Honestly… the pod restoration… that's partial time Reversal, I can still pull it off one more time if I try, though if I push myself, I could do it a little more" he shrugged, speaking casually.
"And is that part of your abilities, or your trump card?" The puppet asked as her eyes locked with his.
He thought for a moment, then came up with the perfect answer.
"It's a borrowed ability… My Ascended ability is capable of borrowing abilities used by others, and it allows me to use it once"
He simply disguised his Scribe ability as the work of a memory, although he was giving her a lot of information about himself, he didn't mind, for one, he had no plans of hiding it, because he was going to be recording and using a lot of abilities of the blood sisters and others, and he was going to rely on that ability instead of the marionettes as that would be his other body, Jayson's ability.
As for the abilities he would use here, it was more like this.
Aspect Ability: [Magician], [Teleport], [Scribe].
These were the only abilities he would use all through his stay in the Song domain.
His main purpose for revealing this much was so that he would have more freeway because he was going to be having a lot more secrets that they would definitely be interested in.
If he had too many secrets, they would consider him a threat, but If he told some and kept some, then the situation would be different.
Ki Song and Eubin looked surprised by his reveal, the puppet smiled and asked.
"When you say borrow… Does that mean the owner's consent is required?"
He smiled and answered.
"Yes… it's more of an agreement, I request for the ability, and if you agree, I can use it once, and if you refuse, then that's my loss, however the condition is that, when I use the ability, it's not as strong as the original"
He purposely placed a limitation on his description so that they would feel they were in control of his ability.
"That's a very powerful ability… now I want to know, whose ability did you borrow for the time reversal? I remember that you hadn't ascended at that time" She asked.
"Thorax's main objective was to make me directly an ascended, according to him, that's what was supposed to happen, so in that brief moment, I must have used the ability, before returning to ascended, I honestly had no idea what was happening to my body in the waking world, but the one with the time reversal ability is Thorax" Merlin lied as naturally as he breathed.
After all, who was going to go to Civilth to debunk his claim.
'Having a backer who can help you is great, but having a backer who can take all the blame is legendary'
"I see, that's all the questions I have concerning your stay in the dream realm" the puppet nodded.
"Thank you… now I have a question of my own" he said as his voice turned serious.
