Kai stood in front of a strong wooden door. He gripped the handle as the service drone softly whirred behind him, but it was locked. Reluctantly, he turned to the service drone with a groan... "You want to help me out here?" The drone nodded as it stepped forward and scanned an ID card, "Until you are given your personal identification card after your evaluation, I will be accompanying you. Call me Xander Omega Model 45 or XO."
Kai nodded as the service drone opened the door. The room was a compact dorm with a wide window opposite the main door. On either side of the entrance are bunk beds, with three of the beds occupied. To the right, next to one bunk bed, are four wall-integrated lockers. To the left is a small bathroom containing a shower and toilet.
Kai plopped down on the empty bed, but Kai had no clothes or bags to put on his bed to claim it. It was weird. He got grabbed right from the party, so he didn't have time to go get them. He got taken by that guy in the cloak; he wondered what had happened to him. He stood up and walked over to the drone, "X O?" The service looked at him, "Yes, Kai? What do you require?" Kai thought for a second about how to phrase his question,
"Yeah. You mentioned an assessment? What's that about?" The service drone nodded before he started his long yet elegant explanation, "So, in short, they will measure you physically, magically, and fundamentally." Kai took this in before something lingered on his young mind, "Fundamentals. The eye thing?"
The service robot nodded, "Yes. The eye thing." He nodded as he finally walked out of the room, "So... I know I must be one of the guys with the best fundamentals-" The robot interrupted his arrogant comment, "You are no Zerik Masutākuran." Kai scoffed at this obvious attempt to put him down.
They closed the room door. After an elevator ride and a short walk outside, they reached a big building that looked like a gymnasium, but upon walking in, he was astonished. The facility is a massive, multi-purpose gymnasium complex spanning two reinforced floors, housing eight separate training halls. Each space rises nearly 45 feet high, with floors, walls, and ceilings engineered to withstand explosive force. Along the upper perimeter of every gym sits a reinforced observation booth, overlooking the training areas below, allowing full visibility across each hall.
"How do you afford this?" Kai said his mouth agape as he saw some students throwing around crazy attacks at each other, with 3 of them having a personal instructor, whilst the remaining 7 were being led by a man with a clearly happened world view of life. "We are a government-funded program... demons have been around since the dawn of time, the government has seen our results and saw to it that the students protect the country."
