Chapter 20 - Sharingan Ocular Technique: Spatial Shift

The moment the word "lady" reached her ears, a visible blush spread across Uchiha Mikoto's pale neck—like dawn breaking across fresh snow.

Though gentle by nature, she was still a decisive kunoichi.

There was none of the fragile softness found in ordinary girls.

The Uchiha's passion—loving fiercely, hating just as strongly—was fully embodied in her.

She drew in a steady breath, suppressing the rapid pounding in her chest, then lifted her still-flushed face.

Her clear eyes shone with defiance as she met Uchiha Ren's smiling gaze.

"Even if you didn't offer," she said firmly, "I would've made you teach me."

"Your ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, your ocular techniques…"

"I want to learn everything you have."

A trace of mischief flickered in her eyes as her lips curved upward.

"And then I'll defeat you. Let's see what you do about that~"

"Lady Mikoto is quite greedy," Ren chuckled softly.

His arm naturally slid around her slender waist.

Even through her fitted combat attire, the warmth of his palm and the firmness beneath it were unmistakable.

Years of training had left her waist lean and perfectly toned—

Now slightly tense beneath his touch, tracing a graceful curve that fit effortlessly against him.

The closeness made her breath hitch.

She could feel the heat of his hand, the strength in his hold.

Her body, usually defined by battle, now revealed a softer side—pressed flush against him.

Mikoto bit her lower lip, her gaze flickering.

The words of protest that rose to her lips dissolved into a soft, almost reluctant hum.

This place had long been their private meeting ground.

In the past, Yashiro or Hazuki would stand watch during their secret meetings.

Now that everything was out in the open—

There was no longer any need for secrecy.

At the very least, those two long-suffering "lookouts" had finally retired from their duties.

After a brief moment of closeness, Ren's hand slid down naturally, taking hers as he led her toward the shade of a nearby tree.

"During our spar just now," he began calmly, "your improved 'Phoenix Flower Claw Crimson'—derived from the Phoenix Flower Technique—and the 'Uchiha Wind Blade Style' incorporating breathing methods…"

"These are techniques that even ordinary shinobi can learn with enough effort."

"For those of us with three-tomoe Sharingan, mastering them isn't difficult."

"And you've already gained solid control over them."

He paused slightly.

"So what I'll teach you next… is something outsiders can never learn."

"My own Uchiha secret technique."

The Sharingan possessed three fundamental abilities—

Observation.

Copying.

Hypnosis.

In a lower-level world, it would be considered an outright cheat.

Even here, it granted unparalleled perception—reading chakra flow, seeing through illusions, replicating techniques.

From the B-rank Phoenix Flower Claw Crimson—

To the Wind Breathing style he had acquired and adapted—

All of it remained within the observable and reproducible domain of the Sharingan.

But—

What came next did not.

"What 'secret technique'? Listen to you, sounding so proud," Mikoto said lightly.

Under the shade, she knelt and opened the meal box she had prepared, carefully laying out breakfast.

Despite her teasing, her eyes curved into a gentle smile as she handed him a portion.

"It's still early. No need to rush teaching me. Eat first."

She ate in small bites, but her gaze rarely left him.

Watching him eat heartily brought her quiet satisfaction.

From time to time, she refilled his juice, handed him a cloth.

Ren accepted it all naturally, occasionally meeting her eyes with a faint smile.

Morning light filtered through the leaves.

Shadows swayed softly.

While this pair shared a calm and intimate moment—

Not far away, another pair was in complete chaos.

"Kasumi—how am I supposed to live without you?!"

A miserable wail shattered the peaceful morning, startling birds into flight.

Below a tree, the plump orange cat clung desperately to the trunk, tears and snot smeared across its face as its paws scraped wildly at the bark.

Above, perched gracefully on a branch, the silver tabby curled her body elegantly.

Her moonlit fur shimmered softly under the dawn.

Looking down with emerald-like eyes, she sighed.

"What is this even supposed to be…"

The genjutsu trapping Maru was his deepest fear—

Being abandoned by Kasumi.

In the illusion, he watched her walk away, farther and farther, no matter how he chased—never able to reach her.

"Can't even break a simple genjutsu…" Kasumi muttered, licking her paw lazily.

"And you still think you can chase after me?"

Though her tone was dismissive—

Her tail swayed unconsciously.

Her gaze never left the sobbing orange cat below.

Somewhere in her thoughts lingered an image she had never seen—

The Two-Tails.

A pale, distant ideal.

All thanks to those absurd romance novels.

After finishing the meal, Ren watched as Mikoto neatly packed everything away.

Then she sat properly before him, attentive and serious.

A faint smile touched his eyes.

His expression turned focused, voice calm and clear.

"What I'm about to teach you next…"

"Is a technique developed from Sharingan ocular power."

"Spatial Shift."

Mikoto's eyes widened instantly.

She had expected something like advanced Body Flicker—

Not this.

"Space–time ninjutsu?" she asked, her voice filled with surprise.

"Like the Flying Thunder God created by Senju Tobirama… later perfected by Namikaze Minato?"

Ren raised a brow.

"Exactly."

"A space–time technique that's nearly impossible to guard against."

"And one that only the Uchiha can use—through Sharingan ocular power."

Over countless days and nights, Ren had obtained—

From the mysterious gate—

A third-tier spell from another world.

A teleportation ability known as Dimensional Shift.

A simple spell.

Short-range.

Limited to the caster alone.

Used mainly for repositioning or escape.

On the same tier as a basic fireball.

But—

With his mutated Sharingan, capable of learning and activating foreign systems—

He had mastered it effortlessly.

Like learning the Fireball Jutsu.

Then—

After two and a half years of refinement—

He had finally transformed it into a true Sharingan ocular technique.

Spatial Shift.

A technique that would become—

One of the Uchiha clan's ultimate trump cards.

And one that—

Could never be copied by the Sharingan alone.
