Chapter 1 - The Day It Became Real

Chapter 1: Ayusha had never been someone who believed in dreams. To her, they were nothing more than fragments of imagination, random thoughts that disappeared the moment she opened her eyes. But that night felt different. It didn't feel like a dream—it felt real, too real to ignore. She stood in the middle of a crowded street, surrounded by the noise of people and vehicles. Everything looked normal at first. People were walking, talking, laughing, completely unaware of anything unusual. Yet, deep inside her, there was a strange uneasiness, like a quiet warning she couldn't explain. Her eyes moved around the street until they stopped on something—or rather, someone. A boy stood on the other side of the road, waiting to cross. He looked calm, distracted, his attention fixed on his phone. It was an ordinary moment, nothing out of place. But Ayusha's heart suddenly began to race, as if she already knew what was about to happen.

The traffic light changed, and the vehicles started slowing down. The boy stepped forward without looking up. Ayusha felt her chest tighten. "Stop…" she tried to say, but her voice didn't come out. Her body refused to move, as if she was trapped inside the moment. And then, suddenly, a car came speeding from the side, ignoring the signal. The sound of tires screeching filled the air, but it was too late. The boy didn't even notice. The impact echoed loudly, freezing everything around her. People screamed, chaos erupted, but Ayusha could only stand there, watching helplessly. Her breath caught in her throat as the boy lay motionless on the ground. Fear gripped her completely. "No…" she whispered. And then, everything went dark.

Ayusha woke up with a sharp breath, her heart pounding heavily against her chest. She sat up immediately, gripping the bedsheet tightly as she tried to calm herself. Her room was silent, the faint light of early morning entering through the window. Everything was normal again. Safe. But the feeling didn't go away. The dream lingered in her mind, every detail clear and vivid. It wasn't fading like a normal dream would. It stayed, as if it had really happened. "It was just a dream," she whispered to herself, but her voice lacked confidence. She could still hear the sound of the crash, still see the boy falling. It felt too real to ignore.

Trying to shake off the uneasiness, Ayusha got out of bed and prepared for the day. She moved slowly, her thoughts distracted as she washed her face and got ready for school. No matter how hard she tried, her mind kept going back to the same moment—the street, the boy, the accident. "Why does it feel so real?" she murmured under her breath. Even as she stepped outside, the feeling followed her. The morning air was fresh, the sky clear, and everything seemed peaceful. People walked past her like any other day, unaware of the storm inside her mind.

As she approached the main road, her steps suddenly slowed. Her eyes widened slightly as she looked ahead. The place in front of her looked exactly the same as in her dream. The same shops, the same crossing, the same arrangement of everything. Her heart skipped a beat. "No… this can't be…" she whispered. A cold feeling ran through her body as she stood there, unable to move for a moment. And then, her eyes found him. The same boy. Standing on the other side of the road, just like in her dream. Her breathing became uneven. "This isn't possible…" she said to herself, but deep down, she knew it was.

The traffic light changed. The vehicles began to slow down. The boy looked at his phone and stepped forward. Ayusha's fear turned into panic instantly. "No—WAIT!" she shouted loudly, her voice cutting through the noise of the street. People turned to look at her in confusion, but she didn't care. She ran forward without thinking, pushing past others as her heart pounded faster with every step. "Stop!" she shouted again. This time, the boy looked up, surprised by her sudden voice. In that brief moment, their eyes met. He looked confused, unaware of what was about to happen. Without hesitation, Ayusha grabbed his arm and pulled him back with all her strength.

At that exact moment, a car sped past the crossing, ignoring the signal. It moved so fast that the wind brushed against them as it passed. The screech of tires echoed in the air, but there was no impact this time. No scream. No chaos. The boy stumbled slightly, trying to understand what had just happened. "What are you doing?" he asked, his voice shaking slightly. Ayusha didn't reply immediately. Her hands were still trembling as she slowly let go of him. Her heart was still racing, but now it wasn't just fear—it was realization.

It happened.

The same moment. The same car. The same situation.

But this time, it didn't end the same way.

Because she changed it.

Ayusha stepped back, her mind overwhelmed. Her dream hadn't just been a dream. It had shown her the future. And she had just changed it. A strange feeling washed over her, a mixture of relief and fear. "Be careful next time," she said quietly, avoiding his gaze. The boy looked at her with confusion but nodded slowly. "You saved me," he said. But Ayusha didn't respond. She turned and walked away quickly, her thoughts racing uncontrollably.

The rest of the day passed like a blur. She sat in class, staring at her notebook, unable to focus on anything. Her mind kept replaying the morning again and again. If she could see the future… then what else could she see? What if the next time, she wasn't able to stop it? The thought sent a chill down her spine.

That night, as she lay in bed, she stared at the ceiling, afraid to fall asleep. Her heart felt heavy with uncertainty. "What if I see something worse?" she thought. But no matter how hard she tried, sleep slowly took over.

And once again—

She began to dream.

This time, it was different. Darker. Quieter. She stood in a long, empty corridor. The lights flickered, casting shadows along the walls. The place felt cold, almost lifeless. A strange tension filled the air. Then she heard it—footsteps. Slow. Echoing. Her heart began to race as she turned toward the sound. At the end of the corridor stood a girl. She wasn't moving. She was just standing there, completely still. Something about her felt wrong.

Suddenly, the lights went out.

Darkness filled everything.

Ayusha froze, fear gripping her. "Hello?" she called out, her voice trembling. There was no response. Then, out of nowhere, a scream echoed through the corridor—sharp and terrifying. Ayusha's eyes widened in fear. "No…" she whispered. The lights flickered back on.

The girl was gone.

And something else was on the floor.

Ayusha couldn't move.

Her breath stopped.

Because this time… the dream felt even more real.

She woke up with a gasp, her body shaking. "This isn't normal…" she whispered. Her hands trembled as she tried to steady herself. One dream had already come true. And now… another one had begun.

Something bad was going to happen.

And this time—

She didn't know if she could stop it.
