Chapter 223 - Chapter 223: Absolute Strength

The sea of crimson engulfed the ruined Seireitei.

Unohana Yachiru stood at its center, her Bankai transforming the battlefield into a realm of blood and death. Every step sent crimson waves rolling outward, dissolving stone and steel alike. Her eyes burned with the excitement of someone who had waited a thousand years for a worthy battle.

Across from her, Uchiha Tobirama calmly handed Matsumoto Rangiku over to Soi Fon.

"Take her somewhere safe," he ordered. "No one comes near until this battle is over."

Soi Fon immediately obeyed and disappeared with Rangiku.

Tobirama removed his cloak and stepped forward with empty hands.

"You intend to fight bare-handed?" Unohana asked, a smile spreading across her face.

"I do."

She laughed.

"Excellent."

Without another word, she vanished.

Her sword descended like crimson lightning, accompanied by a torrent of blood that threatened to consume everything in its path.

Tobirama met it with a single punch.

The collision shook the battlefield.

A deafening shockwave blasted outward, forcing the sea of blood to split apart for hundreds of meters.

Unohana's smile widened.

"So this is your true strength..."

She attacked again.

Her blade danced through countless forms perfected over a millennium, each strike aimed with flawless precision.

Yet Tobirama avoided every slash with effortless movements.

He answered each attack with a single fist.

Every punch carried enough force to shatter mountains.

One strike cracked her ribs.

Another broke her shoulder.

A third sent her crashing into the crimson sea.

Her Bankai restored her injuries almost instantly.

She rose again.

Again and again they clashed.

The battlefield echoed with explosions as sword met fist.

Each time Unohana recovered, she attacked without hesitation.

Each time Tobirama overwhelmed her through absolute power.

The surviving captains watched in stunned silence.

Even the First Kenpachi...

Even the woman who had mastered every style of swordsmanship...

Could not force Tobirama to take a single step backward.

Finally, Tobirama caught her sword arm.

With a twist of his wrist, the blade shattered into fragments.

Before Unohana could react, he struck her squarely in the chest.

The impact blasted her across the battlefield, scattering the sea of blood itself.

Her Bankai collapsed.

The crimson ocean faded.

Silence returned.

Unohana struggled to stand, supporting herself with what remained of her Zanpakutō.

She looked at Tobirama for a long time.

Then she smiled.

"So this is what true power looks like."

"I searched for an opponent worthy of crossing blades with for a thousand years."

"I finally found one."

She lowered her sword.

"I have been defeated."

"There is no shame in acknowledging someone stronger."

She knelt.

"From this day onward, I recognize your strength."

"My sword will no longer seek to challenge you."

"If you require my blade in the future, I will lend it without hesitation."

The surviving captains stared in disbelief.

Yamamoto had fallen.

Aizen had perished.

Now even the First Kenpachi had acknowledged defeat.

The strongest warriors of Soul Society had all been overcome.

Tobirama looked down at Unohana before giving a single nod.

"Very well."

"Stand."

Unohana rose.

Though defeated, there was no bitterness in her expression.

Only respect.

The battle had given her the answer she had sought for centuries.

Across the ruined Seireitei, an uneasy silence spread.

Everyone understood the same truth.

The era ruled by the Gotei Thirteen had come to an end.

And a new legend had begun.
