Chapter 1 - The beginning of the torture

Years... many years had passed. Many, many years had passed since that world we once knew—a world where technology had advanced, where people could still remain human, and where class divisions were barely felt.

Humanity had practically returned to the Middle Ages they used to talk about in their novels, stories, and even their poems.

However, this return did not affect everyone in a positive way. While some lived like kings and nobles, others survived by digging through the nobles' trash, serving them, or working in fields and mines. In short, they were like pigs that were fed, raised, and eventually sent to the slaughterhouse. But humanity's downfall was not surprising. Mankind's greed was never satisfied. It always wanted more... and more. It never stopped. In the end, that greed turned a world ruled by peace and order into a war that no one could escape.

There were five great races that had existed alongside humanity.

They were:

Elves

Demi-Humans

Angels

The Atlantis Sea Folk

Winged Demons

THE FIVE ANCIENT RACES THAT HAD EXISTED ALONGSIDE HUMANITY.

Now, those five ancient races were almost extinct. They had become more helpless than ever in their war against humanity. Humans were building heavily armed, three-layered cities they called Livenburgs.

Moreover, they mercilessly killed any living creature or race they saw outside the Livenburgs.

This so-called war resulted only in the deaths of the innocent. Meanwhile, those truly responsible for the war lived luxurious lives inside their three-layered cities. They ate and drank whatever they desired, and spent their time enjoying whatever entertainments they pleased.

The only ones who suffered were the people of the lower class. Whenever war broke out, the soldiers were chosen from them—or rather, soldiers were always chosen from them. Livenburg had not a single good side.

It was nothing more than a place that imprisoned people within its three-layered city system, poisoned their lives, and forced them to work until the day they died.

The city of Livenburg Howay had three incredibly tall and thick walls.

The first wall was the backbone of Livenburg's defense and offense. There were not many heavy weapons there, but the number of guards stationed there was remarkably high.

The second wall—or rather, the second layer—was filled entirely with heavy weaponry. It seemed to have been armed even further for the protection of the nobles and the wealthy.

The highest layer of Livenburg was completely sealed like a giant glass dome. Its entire perimeter had been fortified with a wall enchanted by an anti-life spell so complex that breaking through it was nearly impossible.

Founded by Governor Bernieas, this city was considered relatively safer than the other Livenburg cities. Humanity claimed these fortified cities had been built to protect themselves from the other races. But over time, the governors who founded different Livenburgs succeeded in gathering all power into their own hands within the cities they had established.

As generations passed, that power was handed down to their descendants.

And for generations, that same power had brought nothing but suffering to the people of Livenburg Howay.

Of course, despite how miserable life was for the common people, something would always happen that could make them smile, even if only for a moment. Moments like these strengthened the unity and solidarity of the people.

Of course, the nobles and the wealthy often disrespected the common people simply to satisfy themselves. They took children from the people and used them like slaves to carry out their filthy work. Especially the girls suffered the most under this disgusting system of slavery.

Even if families whose children had been taken poured into the streets in protest... so what?

Even the senior soldiers who protected the nobles and the wealthy had once come from among the people, yet they betrayed the very place they came from.

Whenever someone gained even the slightest amount of power, they tried to oppress those beneath them.

This hypocritical world...

These two different worlds...

needed order.

OR A REGULATOR...
