Hajin clipped the second retrieval line beneath his left arm while Loccy tested its surface anchor.
Hans carried six rescue wedges, two lamps, and the only marked copy of Lower Third. Juna took no lamp because her eyes plus nose needed fewer lies from the dark.
"One pull means hold, two means give line, three means drag us out," Hans said. He checked the knot below Hajin's shoulder before finishing the count.
"Anything else on the line gets ignored by all of us."
Loccy asked while holding the anchored line, "What if something takes hold below and pulls you down, three Wings or one?"
"Use one Wing until the main brace moves," he replied. He tapped the route marked behind her while saying it.
"If that shifts, use whatever keeps the mountain outside the mine."
She accepted the order though she disliked it, then planted her hammer beside the first support. Above them, the foreman repeated the evacuation count and confirmed every other miner remained beyond the exterior brace.
