Cherreads

Chapter 1 - “The Blue Light in the Cathedral”

I found myself standing inside a huge church hall, silent and endless, like it was not built by human hands. The ceiling rose high into darkness, and the walls were filled with faint glowing windows, shining softly like heaven was watching.

In the center of the hall was a straight red carpet, stretching forward like a path meant for only one person.

On both sides of the carpet, there were people dressed in pure white gowns, standing still like guardians. Their faces were calm, but their presence was heavy—holy, powerful, and untouchable.

My heart started beating fast.

Slowly, my legs became weak, and I walked forward until I reached the middle of them.

Then I dropped to my knees.

I bowed my head down, unable to look up, as if something unseen was pressing my soul to the ground. The air felt thick, like the whole church was holding its breath.

Suddenly—

A sharp blue beam of light came from above.

It struck directly through me, piercing into my body—starting from my abdomen, burning like fire and freezing like ice at the same time.

My whole body trembled.

The light was not normal light. It felt alive… like it carried truth, power, and judgment.

I tried to move, but I couldn't.

I tried to speak, but I couldn't.

All I could do was scream.

Not because I was dying…

But because something inside me was being pulled out—fear, pain, darkness, weakness—everything hidden deep within my soul.

The people in white did not move.

They only watched, silently.

The beam grew brighter, and the red carpet beneath me glowed, as if the path itself was waiting for my decision.

And then, in the middle of the pain, I felt something strange…

Peace.

Like the light was not there to destroy me…

But to change me.

The scream faded into silence.

The beam slowly disappeared.

And when the church became quiet again, I remained kneeling—head down, breathing heavily.

But inside me…

I was no longer the same.
