Chapter 4 - System ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The screen flickered before widening, giving him the information he desperately wanted to know.

[Secular World: Arborealis – Code 667# Midafel.

Current Status – Code 667# Midafel:

• Qi gathers at the Eye of Heart (the point where the soul resides), gradually forming the life core known as the Cultivator Core.

• The world is influenced by raw [energy], considered poison. After each session of gathering Qi. A mentatory expelling process is mentatory.

• Cultivators progress through stages:

Body refinement realm → Qi gathering realm → Core condensing → Earth core → Heavenly core → Soul core → Ascendent Realm.

----

"I just have to gather Qi at the heart. Just that?" Xuan uttered.

Before gazing up, noticing the title, Code 667# Midafel. It looked odd, very odd. Sounded like those military operation codes.

He didn't dwell on the odd title. Something else mattered more.

'Poison, huh.can I even cultivate like this?'

He paused, realizing he had no cultivation technique at all. Even reaching Yun City would be impossible without one.

And now there was poison to worry about. He frowned. Can I really cultivate without a technique? Won't the poison hurt me?

[That question will cost 70 credit points. Proceed?]

Xuan pondered for a second before proceeding. It cost a lot, he thought, but he knows he has to go through it.

[Host is detected to cost, possess a heavenly spirit physique. Spirit races are originally attuned to the highest form of energy. Host possessing the Heavenly Spirit physique is immune to energy influx.]

Xuan, who wasn't expecting that, was happy seeing that. "So I'm really immune to poison! While others have to expel it and I don't have to?"

[That question will cost 5 credit points. Proceed?]

Xuan looked at it. "Ow, there's more. Yes, proceed."

[Yes, Host is immune to Qi Poison.

Host is so dumb. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ]

....

Xuan froze for a moment. 'Dumb?' No.

"The system...can talk?"

[That question will cost 5 credit points. Proceed?]

"Proceed."

[¯\_(ツ)_/¯, the host is so dumb. He has to confirm, wasting another five credit points just to be sure.]

Xuan's happy face dropped as he stared at the plain text and that ridiculous icon. "It really can talk!"

He fronwed yesterday he tried making it talk multiple times. But it didn't response in any way "It seems it needs credit points to even reply."

"You've been watching me this whole time, haven't you?"

[That question will cost 5 credit points. Proceed?]

Xuan's face darkened.

"Of course it is."

He crossed his arms, staring at the screen.

"I'm not paying just to get insulted again."

He closed the system window and sat down, crossing his legs and straightening his back.

Closing his eyes, He gradually slowed down his breath and focused.

A faint sensation appeared. It was subtle, almost nonexistent for him to notice, but it was there.

Then, he began to sense them all around him. Dim blue greenish glow.

So this is Qi? he pondered.

Taking a deep breath, Xuan reached out, drawing the dim particles closer. Slowly, they swirled toward him.

The moment they touched his skin, warmth shot through his body, pooling in his heart like molten fire.

The bluish green particles fused together, linking into a flowing stream of energy.

But on the very next second. It's surged violently spreading throughout his whole body, Followed by multiple succession of stinging pain.

Forcing his eyes wide open. Sweat dripped down his face. He felt strange.

Strength poured into him, radiating from his heart, filling every limb, every fiber of his being.

[Ding. Host has reached the First Stage of the Body Tempering Realm.]

Xuan glanced at the screen, calming himself.

"Just like that... I broke through?"

A hint of excitement appearing in his eyes.

'Was this because of my overpowered physique? That must be it.'

His physique was so strong that he became a cultivator instantly.

[That question will cost 5 credit points. Proceed?]

Xuan frowned but proceeded.

[Those who have the ability to become cultivators become one instantly. It is not due to the Host's body.

Host intelligence remains unchanged. Conclusion: Still dumb. (・∀・)]

Instantly as he read it, his expression changed. He was annoyed, really annoyed.

"Shut up! You didn't tell me that. Of course I wouldn't know that!"

[That question will cost 5 credit points. Proceed?]

Xuan clicked his tongue before waving his hand, removing the screen.

He focused on his hands before clenching them. He could clearly feel it,his strength had increased slightly.

As he focused further, the dim blue green light became clearer, and he could easily sense the warmth within his heart.

He had become a cultivator!.

He opened his status window.

• Cultivation: First Stage of Body Tempering [0%]

"I really did..." he murmured, he's now someone that every farmer and mortal dreams of becoming one. A cultivator.

Sitting down again. He grabbed the wine bottle, pulling out the cork before taking a small sip.

Instantly, he felt its effects. It would help him further as he cultivated.

He stored the wine bottle away.

Closing his eyes once more, he focused. This time, almost instantly, he sensed the blue-green light within him and the floating particles in the surrounding environment.

Unlike before, the light particles gathered much faster.

They flowed into his body, coursing through his veins as they moved toward his heart.

Each time a particle joined in, it was subtle, but he could feel part of that energy washing through his body.

Xuan understood.

"So that's how one refines the body and breaks through."

Excitement surged through him. He focused, cultivating steadily,He didn't feel as tired as he had originally expected.

Hours passed. Slithering light fell across him, making his eyes twitch before he slowly opened them.

Instantly he noticed it,The world looked sharper than before.

'My vision, improved.'

He clenched his fists. 'And strength too.'

He opened his status window.

---

• Cultivation: First Stage of Body Tempering [11%]

Xuan frowned. With a physique made for cultivation, he had expected more, maybe fifty percent of the stage. But it was way lower.

He sighed. 'Seems it will take some time'

Unknown to him, anyone who knew his progress would have coughed up blood. Advancing onetenth of a stage in a single day meant he could break through in just two weeks!

We're even geniuses would take a month to two months. He will do it in two weeks!. Not to mention he didn't even have a cultivation technique yet.

He didn't know that. To him, the pace felt painfully slow. Focusing he uttered.

[Ding!Signing in to current location,Kai Family Farmhouse (Common ✦)]

[Ding! Gacha Pool Reward, Scrap Clothes x2]

Xuan shrugged. Yesterday day he got something weird. He hoped he would get something gud today.

He sighed, "The common items didn't even have any effects"

But he was also hopeful with the system he can be someone strong.

'Atleast strong enough not to die like that.' He uttered remembering his soldier days.

'Yeah if anything that's my first goal in this new world'
