Chapter 189 - Yuki Suou Discovers the Blind Spot

Chapter 189: Yuki Suou Discovers the Blind Spot

"…Rovel, you… didn't sleep well?"

Kiana blinked, leaning closer to inspect Rovel's face. His cheeks were visibly sunken, and dark, heavy bags hung beneath his eyes. He looked like a man who had been thoroughly and mercilessly drained of his life force.

In stark contrast, Mei stood nearby radiating a vibrant, healthy glow. Her skin looked softer and smoother than ever, carrying the unmistakable flush of deep satisfaction.

Rovel offered a weak, hollow chuckle. Who could have possibly predicted that immediately after finally conquering Mei, the Herrscher of Thunder would forcibly seize control of the account, forcefully swapping places to initiate a brutal second round?

If he hadn't possessed the ability to rapidly adjust his physical constitution, he likely wouldn't have even possessed the strength to open his eyes this morning.

"I just logged in to ask Himeko for some time off," Rovel muttered, his voice raspy. "That's all. Good night."

Without waiting for a response, he collapsed onto the virtual sofa and immediately severed his connection, logging offline.

Back in the real world, Rovel's consciousness returned to his physical body. He didn't even bother changing clothes before burying his face into his pillows, instantly falling into a deep slumber.

However, that hard-earned peace didn't last long. A soft rustling disturbed the quiet room, followed by a warm, shifting weight slipping beneath his blankets.

"Sakura?!" Rovel jolted awake, his heavy eyes snapping open.

"Husband…" Yae Sakura murmured. Her delicate cheeks were dusted with a soft, inviting pink, her long fox ears twitching slightly. The sultry look in her eyes made her intentions abundantly clear.

"Uh… I'm sorry, Sakura. Please, just let me get some actual rest today. I'm running on empty." Rovel sighed, offering her an apologetic, helpless smile.

If his physical body wasn't still recovering from the severe backlash of the Ash Extinction state, he would have gladly shown her exactly why she shouldn't sneak into a man's bed so carelessly. But right now, his limbs felt like lead.

A flash of disappointment crossed Yae Sakura's beautiful features, but she obediently nodded, curling up against his side. Rovel wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her close, and the two quickly drifted into a long, peaceful sleep.

Hours later, the sharp, sudden buzzing of Rovel's phone shattered the silence.

Noticing Rovel shift uncomfortably, Yae Sakura immediately reached out and fumbled with the volume buttons, muting the device to protect his rest. Under his patient guidance over the past few days, she had managed to grasp the absolute basics of modern electrical appliances.

She squinted at the glowing screen. The caller ID boldly displayed: The World's Cutest Little Sister.

"I should press this green one to answer, right?" she whispered to herself.

Careful not to wake him, Yae Sakura slipped out of the bed, padded softly out of the bedroom, and tentatively tapped the glowing green icon.

"Brother! I'm finally free from my curfew!" An incredibly energetic, slightly shrill voice exploded from the speaker. "You must miss me so much, right? Are you missing your precious Yuki so much that you can't even sleep?! Don't worry, Yuki is coming to find you right now!"

Yae Sakura blinked, tilting her head. "Um, excuse me. May I ask if you are my hus—Rovel's younger sister?"

She quickly corrected her address. If this was Rovel's sister, that made the girl her sister-in-law. It was absolutely vital to establish a harmonious relationship with her husband's family.

The moment Yae Sakura's gentle, mature voice filtered through the line, the explosive energy on the other end vanished. Dead silence hung in the air.

Click.

The call abruptly disconnected.

Yae Sakura stared at the darkened screen, a literal question mark practically floating above her head. She had no idea what she had done wrong.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, a sleek sports car suddenly tore out of a private driveway, its engine roaring like a wounded beast as the speedometer violently spiked to one hundred and eighty kilometers per hour.

Tires shrieked against the asphalt. With a flawless, aggressive drift that left thick black skid marks on the pavement, the car slammed to a halt directly in front of Rovel's residence.

Yuki Suou couldn't afford to waste a single second. Bypassing the front door entirely, she sprinted across the lawn, vaulted off a garden decorative stone, and launched herself straight through the second-floor window.

Landing with a heavy thud, she locked eyes on the sleeping figure in the bed. Without a moment of hesitation, Yuki grabbed the collar of Rovel's shirt and hoisted him straight up into the air.

Rovel's eyes fluttered open. He stared blankly at the furious, panting girl dangling him over the mattress, thoroughly convinced he was trapped in a bizarre nightmare.

A split second later, Yuki's deafening roar shattered his eardrums.

"Damn you, Rovel! Who is that hussy?!"

Downstairs in the living room, Yae Sakura had just begun preparing a late dinner. Hearing the violent crash and the subsequent screaming, her eyes narrowed sharply.

"Husband!"

She moved like a blur. Sprinting up the stairs, Yae Sakura burst into the bedroom, her hand resting dangerously on the hilt of the Jizo Mitama strapped to her waist. Her stance was low, her center of gravity shifted perfectly. If this home invader made even a single threatening move toward Rovel, she would draw her blade and sever the girl's head from her shoulders.

"Hus… band?"

Hearing that specific word, Yuki's neck snapped to the side with mechanical stiffness. Her wide eyes landed on Yae Sakura—a breathtakingly gorgeous woman who looked like she had just stepped straight out of a high-budget historical fantasy anime.

The sight of her only poured gasoline on the blazing inferno of Yuki's rage.

"You're playing quite a game, aren't you?!" Yuki shrieked, pointing an accusing finger at Rovel before whipping her glare back to the swordswoman. "You… you were the hussy on the phone just now, weren't you?!"

"Wait… wait a minute!" Rovel finally snapped fully awake, his brain scrambling to catch up. This definitely wasn't a dream.

"Huh? Are you my husband's sister?" Yae Sakura blinked, the lethal tension bleeding out of her posture. Her hand relaxed, falling away from the Jizo Mitama's hilt. She stood up straight, smoothing out her clothes, and offered a graceful, polite bow. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Yae Sakura."

"I refuse to remember the name of a homewrecking hussy!" Yuki screamed at the top of her lungs.

Smack.

Rovel immediately delivered a swift, merciless karate chop to the top of Yuki's head.

"Ow!" Yuki dropped Rovel, collapsing onto the floor. She sat there rubbing the growing bump on her skull, wincing in genuine pain.

"Brother, you actually hit your precious sister for the sake of an outsider?!" Yuki looked up at Rovel, her eyes swimming with dramatic tears. She then snapped her gaze back to Yae Sakura, pure venom dripping from her words. "You detestable vixen…"

"Oh?" Yae Sakura's fox ears twitched, perking straight up. A bright, genuine flicker of joy illuminated her eyes. "You can actually tell that I am a vixen?"

For the longest time, her ears had been a source of endless frustration. People constantly mistook them for rabbit ears, or even worse, donkey ears. Aside from Rovel, Yuki was the very first person to instantly recognize them as proper fox ears at a single glance. The validation made her incredibly happy.

Yuki stared at her, utterly bewildered.

Was this woman completely insane? She had just hurled a vicious insult at her, and the woman was practically glowing with happiness!

Could it be… she was a massive masochist?

During the short time she had been locked up at home, Rovel had actually been playing such twisted, elaborate games! Furry cosplay, historical anime roleplay, and now extreme masochism?! Weren't the elements a bit too rich here?!

"Let me reintroduce you properly," Rovel sighed, rubbing his temples to stave off an incoming headache. He put on his most serious expression. "This is Yae Sakura. She comes from the Honkai World."

"The Honkai World?" Yuki's jaw dropped, her eyes widening to the size of saucers.

Someone from a virtual reality game had physically crossed over into their reality?

"Waaaaah~! Brother!" Yuki threw her head back and wailed, fresh tears spilling down her cheeks. "Just to cover up his blatant cheating, he's actually using such a ridiculously absurd lie to deceive his cute little sister!!"

"First of all, this isn't cheating. Second of all… I'm not joking."

Rovel reached out, pinching both of Yuki's soft cheeks and ruthlessly pulling them outward.

"Ow, ow, ow, shtop it!" Yuki whined, swatting at his hands and begging for mercy.

"Sigh. Sakura… could you please go back for just a moment?" Rovel asked, turning to the swordswoman. Words clearly weren't going to work on his stubborn sister. A practical demonstration was the only way.

Yae Sakura nodded obediently. Her physical form suddenly dissolved into a brilliant, scattering stream of pink light, instantly retreating into the Stigma Space.

"Do you believe me now?" Rovel asked, crossing his arms as he looked down at the stunned girl on the floor.

"…A ghost?!" Yuki scrambled backward, her face draining of color. "No, Brother, look at your complexion! Your face is completely hollowed out! You must have been drained of your vital yang essence by a vicious female ghost! Hold on, I'll go find some master exorcist Taoist priests to save you…"

She frantically dug her phone out of her pocket, her thumbs flying across the screen as she searched for nearby spiritual mediums.

Rovel stood there, utterly speechless. He walked over to the mirror and inspected his reflection. Honestly, his current complexion really was ghastly. He looked like a walking corpse. It was entirely reasonable for Yuki to jump to the supernatural essence-draining conclusion.

When he had first claimed Yae Sakura stepped out of a video game, Yuki had genuinely suspected he was suffering from heavy metal poisoning after eating a bad batch of boiled black grouper.

It took another twenty minutes of exhausting persuasion, but Yuki finally, reluctantly, accepted the reality that Yae Sakura was a physical manifestation from the Honkai World.

"But wait, doesn't that mean Brother is still cheating?!" Yuki suddenly slapped the floor, her eyes narrowing as she remembered the core issue.

Yae Sakura had crossed over into reality, and she was already calling him 'husband'. That meant highly inappropriate, adult things had absolutely taken place!

If it had only happened inside the Honkai World, Yuki could have at least comforted herself with the excuse that it was just a bunch of virtual polygons.

But… Yae Sakura was here. In the flesh.

Which meant! Her beloved brother's purity… was completely gone!

"Wait. Something isn't right here." Yuki pinched her chin, her frantic energy suddenly evaporating into a chilling, calculated calm.

"If that bastard Rovel actually betrayed me and slept with someone else… then why didn't my radar react at all?"

It was a soul-searching question.

In the past, whenever Rovel got even slightly intimate with other girls—even if it was just inside the game—her internal 'bro-con radar' would flare up. She would feel a sudden, crushing sense of unease, which always resulted in her bombarding his phone with urgent calls.

But she hadn't felt that familiar twisting in her gut for over a month.

Tracing the timeline back, the exact moment her radar stopped working was right around the time Funahiki Gyō had ambushed them, leaving Rovel clinging to life.

After Rovel had been miraculously cured of his fatal injuries, that subtle, obvious bloodline connection that had always linked them together seemed to have vanished entirely. It had been completely severed.

Yuki Suou had just discovered the ultimate blind spot.

She slowly lifted her head, locking her gaze onto Rovel. A dark, incredibly dangerous smile began to curve at the corners of her mouth.
