The closer Liam got, the more scared Safiya became. In that instant she regretted her actions and how foolish she was to follow a guy she knew nothing about for a one night stand. A one night stand that she was rejected. How humiliating.
"Breath, Safiya breath." she said to herself slowly. Ronnie watched her amused.
Liam got closer, stared at her car for a while, especially the plate number and just walked past it to his own car with his two friends and sped off.
What just happened? Sayifa asked, expecting no answer in particular.
Ronnie looked at her.
"I think this is over, you should go home and clear your head properly. He doesn't even care about what you did to him."
"Well, Good riddance" Safiya snapped.
"Can we go now?" Ronnie asked wide eyed.
Safiya noticed Ronnie was already wearing off, she felt pity for her. She doesn't deserve any of this stress she was making her go through.
I'm sorry" she muttered.
Ronnie looked at her.
"Sorry for?"
"Putting you through this stress. You warned me, I never listened, it was never your fault."
At this point, Safiya was almost teary.
"It's okay, you don't have to be to be too hard on yourself. I mean, these things happen. You were in love, and I couldn't take that away from you."
Ronnie made to lock hands with Safiya, while cautiously driving at the same time.
"You'll be fine, we'll be fine."

Liam drove straight into his family mansion. No doubt he was from a rich glamorous family. The mansion stood elegantly behind a big well polished iron gate. One that is visibly seen from a far distance. One that speaks elegance rather than essence. Warm flouriscent lights illuminated from the three storey building. It complemented the blue painted walls. Liam came down from his car, he had already dropped his friends on his way. He made to go inside. The stairs were made of shiny marbles that led to enormous door ways with high glass panels. You could see visibly expensive chandeliers that sat enormously in the sitting room. Fine sculpted works of art sitted in pretty corners.
Liam heard voices. He was not sure who they were but the only persons he was expecting to see was his mum and Dad. But lo and behold. He saw a whole family in front of him deliberately on something he was not sure of . He felt ashamed instantly. Not for anything but for the fact that his shirt was drink stained.
"Holy shit!" He muttered inside. But what he was not expecting sat in front of him, on the table.
He saw document like papers and pictures scattered round the table. He couldn't second guess what was going on. Just then, he heard his aunt.
"She's just perfect for him, well educated with a first class in Law, and to top it all, from a very respectable family."
"Who's perfect for me?" He asked as he stepped closer, asking no one in particular.
His mum chipped in ignoring his question.
"I have actually met her twice, she's beautiful and humble too."
"Yes honey, the alliance will benefit both families, our companies will be more strengthened. Infact, there's no need delaying this any further." His Dad added.
"Come to think of it," his uncle said facing Liam properly now.
"Don't you think at your age, you're supposed to have settled down?"
Liam ignored his question and faced his parents.
"Mum, Dad, can you explain what is going on? Who is getting married and why is my name all over the place?"
"Liam..." his mum started slowly
"You're getting married. And yes! we are tired of you bringing different women to this house. We are tired of you frolicking with saveral women, with our name tarnished on the internet. We are tired of you almost ruining the reputation of the Sinclair family."
No, I do not agree to any of this. How can you plan my wedding behind my back? I refuse to be part of any of this shit!
"You must marry her Liam!" His Father, famous Engineer Sinclair raged in anger as he gets up to face his son.
"And if I refuse? Liam asked menacingly.
"Then watched me erase everything tied to your name!"
"You don't mean that Dad."
"I'll make sure you drop this Sinclair's name you're answering. I bet you want to try me."
"This isn't happening. Mum, talk to your husband."
His mum lashed out.
"Oh now, he is now my husband and not your Father? And what is this stain on your shirt?, You went drinking again?"
His uncle got up and as his aunt followed suit.
"You've heard your Father Liam. You better listen to him." They go inside
How can y'all be planning my wedding like some kind of business contract?
