Time passed by quickly, day and night had seemed all too the same as they traveled through the roads, often time making small talk and having a laugh here and there.
They had almost not realized when they reached the Treant Village. It was a small place, once known to house the noble and peaceful tree spirits.
But as the carriage was slowly dragged inside. Jacob forced Leon to halt the horses, alighting from the vehicle to have a closer view of the terrain they had just entered.
He looked around, the air smelled like smoke and fog, all mixed together as one thick lump of air. He waved his hand in front of his face to see clearly, the village looked somewhat deserted, as though there were no living soul in this place anymore.
Some of the houses were burned to the ground, some were still barely standing. Most were unrecognizable.
