In the apocalypse, nearly everything just…stopped. Things stopped growing, and most things stopped producing.
The existence of a skilled scientist was tantamount to saving millions of lives in the long run. With the space, they did not lack these things, so how could they miss out on it?
Not to mention, Dock mentioned that he just wanted to explore in peace, without worries for the basic needs like food, shelter, and safety. Wasn't that just what they needed?
Dock, for an introvert, mixed in fairly quickly. He seemed to get along better with the teens, though.
"Wow! A real mad scientist!" Hans said, tone full of admiration and inquiry. Linlin was the same.
Kids these days do not mean these things in a derogatory way. On the contrary, many of them find intense passion towards a field quite cool.
"I'm not mad. I'm quite sane," Dock corrected them.
"Where are we going?"
"Near the capital, but not quite."
"Are they building a base there?"
"Somewhere there, yes."
