Chapter 2 - Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue

[Limitless Lv.1 (1/100): Interferes with matter at the atomic level to manipulate space. The closer an object gets to the user, the slower it becomes, making it impossible to ever touch the user.]

[Energy Absorption Lv.2 (1/300): Can absorb most types of energy. Absorption rate and maximum energy capacity are moderate.]

The moment his Template Synchronization reached 5%, his Energy Absorption seamlessly broke through to Level 2. Su Mu could instantly feel the transcendental changes occurring within his physical vessel.

First, his absorption rate had accelerated drastically, and his body's reservoir for holding raw energy had expanded. But more importantly, a new, profound technique had been permanently branded into the very depths of his soul.

Limitless!

The complex mechanics and applications of the Limitless technique blossomed in his mind. However, due to his currently low synchronization rate, a brief test confirmed he could only maintain the technique for about five minutes. It was nowhere near Gojo Satoru's passive, permanent infinity.

Still, for the sheer purpose of escaping this dungeon, his current arsenal was already more than enough.

A few hours remained until dawn. To be absolutely foolproof, Su Mu decided to continue acting as a human battery, draining the electrical grid to push his synchronization higher and awaken even more diabolical abilities.

Just then, a raspy, unfamiliar voice echoed from the adjacent cell. Su Mu casually turned his head to see a middle-aged man whispering harshly through the iron bars.

"Hey. Kid over there. You're a mutant, aren't you?"

The man's eyes darted toward the dim wall lamp behind Su Mu. Despite Su Mu's efforts to conceal it, the upgraded Energy Absorption was now drawing a faint but visible arc of electricity right into his fingertips. If someone was paying close attention, it was impossible to miss.

When Su Mu didn't reply, the man's tone turned arrogant and demanding.

"You disgusting mutant freak, you've got a way out of here, right? Makes sense. You genetic trash always have some bizarre, freakish powers. Breaking out shouldn't be too hard for you.

"Listen up, kid. When you make your move, you're taking me with you. If you don't, I'll scream my lungs out and tell the gang exactly what you are. I bet these organ harvesters would love to carve up a live mutant."

When Su Mu still remained silently staring, the man grew impatient, his voice dropping into a vicious hiss. "Did you hear me, you damn mutant trash?"

Faced with the pathetic threats of the caged man, Su Mu wasn't the least bit disturbed. Instead, a nearly imperceptible, sinister smirk curled at the corner of his lips.

Thanks to relentless government propaganda, the public harbored deep-seated malice toward mutants, viewing them as filthy abominations. But in their ignorant hatred, ordinary people often forgot one crucial detail: mutants possessed the power to effortlessly tear them limb from limb.

Su Mu tilted his head up, elegantly brushing his stark white hair back to fully reveal those breathtaking, crystalline blue eyes. He flashed a brilliant, disarming smile.

"Don't be so impatient, sir. I'll let you out right now."

The middle-aged man smirked triumphantly. "Smart kid."

Severing his connection to the lamp's electricity, Su Mu walked over to the shared iron bars. He extended a pale hand through the gaps.

"Sir, please give me your hand. My ability is spatial jumping. I'll teleport us out of here immediately."

The man's face lit up with greedy joy. Just as I thought, he mused. This mutant is just a scared little kid. A simple threat was all it took to make him obedient. The man had already hatched a plan: the moment they escaped, he would immediately call the police to report the mutant freak and collect the handsome government bounty. As for the human trafficking gang? They were ruthless killers. He wouldn't dare cross them, but snitching on a defenseless kid was easy money.

Did he worry the kid might attack him? Please. If this brat's power was actually dangerous, he wouldn't have been captured by ordinary thugs in the first place. This "spatial jump" probably had a massive cooldown. The kid was zero threat.

If Su Mu hadn't transmigrated, the man's logic would have been spot on. But the Su Mu standing here possessed the Omniverse System. He was an entirely different entity.

The moment their palms connected, an invisible, highly concentrated surge of raw electricity flooded into the middle-aged man's body. The violent shock instantly paralyzed his nervous system, locking his muscles in place so he couldn't even twitch, let alone scream.

Level 2 Energy Absorption granted Su Mu this level of precise output. But he had no intention of electrocuting the man to death. Anyone who knew the basics of murder knew that lethal electrocution produced a pungent smell of burning flesh, which would immediately alert the guards.

Instead, Su Mu smoothly channeled the stored energy in his cells to exponentially enhance his physical strength. With his free hand, he reached through the bars, clamped down on the paralyzed man's throat, and gave a sharp, vicious twist.

Crack.

The muffled sound of snapping bone echoed faintly. The man's neck bent at a grotesque angle, and the light vanished from his eyes instantly.

It was the dead of night. The slight noise went entirely unnoticed, easily dismissed as someone shifting in their sleep on the hard floor.

Moving with eerie calm, Su Mu propped the corpse up against the wall, making it look as though the man had simply fallen asleep sitting up. Then, he returned to his spot against the wall lamp and resumed absorbing the current, acting as if nothing had ever happened.

The System's mechanical chimes continued their rhythmic melody in his mind:

[System Notification: Energy Point +1]

[System Notification: Energy Point +1]

[System Notification: Energy Absorption EXP +1]

[System Notification: Energy Absorption EXP +1]

...

Time flowed quietly. Through the tiny grated window near the ceiling, the sky began to bleed into the pale grays of pre-dawn. Su Mu, having relentlessly pumped every single point of absorbed energy into his template, finally heard the heavenly chime he had been waiting for.

[System Notification: Template Synchronization Reached: 10%]

[System Notification: New Skill Unlocked — Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue]

[Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue Lv.1 (1/100): Generates a powerful gravitational pull centered on 'Blue'. Maximum output can reach negative infinity, resembling a localized black hole.]

Su Mu's crystalline eyes flared with a breathtaking light. A torrent of esoteric knowledge regarding the precise calculations and applications of Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue flooded his consciousness.

He summoned his status screen:

[Name: Su Mu]

[Active Template: Gojo Satoru]

[Energy Absorption Lv.2 (67/300): Can absorb most types of energy. Absorption rate and maximum energy capacity are moderate.]

[Six Eyes Lv.1 (1/100): Grants 360-degree long-range vision, the ability to see the flow of energy, and astonishing dynamic visual acuity. Allows the host to perform atomic-level precision energy manipulation.]

[Limitless Lv.1 (1/100): Interferes with matter at the atomic level to manipulate space. The closer an object gets to the user, the slower it becomes, making it impossible to ever touch the user.]

[Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue Lv.1 (1/100): Generates a powerful gravitational pull centered on 'Blue'. Maximum output can reach negative infinity, resembling a localized black hole.]

[Template Synchronization: 10%]

[Note: Increase Template Synchronization to unlock new skills.]

[Energy Points: 12]

[Note: When Template Synchronization reaches 100%, a new Character Template will be granted!]

With his Energy Absorption firmly at Level 2, Su Mu could feel an ocean of latent power thrumming through his veins. His energy reserves had vastly expanded.

At this exact moment, he could maintain the Limitless technique continuously for at least 10 minutes, and he had enough raw power to cast Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue multiple times.

Sensing his newly acquired, overwhelming strength, the urgency to flee completely vanished from Su Mu's mind. Why run in the dark when he could give this human trafficking ring a spectacular "surprise"?

More importantly, it was time to properly repay a certain thug named Jim.

Right on cue, the heavy iron door at the end of the corridor groaned open. The familiar, menacing silhouettes of the gang members swaggered into the dungeon, their faces twisted with sadistic intent.
