Chapter 3 - Weak Minds

Ryan reduced the pressure after seeing their inability to respond. So he reduced his divine aura, prompting them to exhale deeply and cough several times; their frail bodies slowly rose from their positions, but they maintained a kneeling stance to avoid offending this God.

"Your holiness, we do not dare seek such an endeavor as that would be courting death; we only came to satisfy our curiosity and learn more about the divine," Maelis spoke first, curating her words to appease the God and salvage their lives.

They all knew they would not be able to contend or fight this monster, so why not just drop their pride and grovel?

This disgusted them to the core and brewed anger; they had come here to find opportunities to finally escape such means to get by, but here they are kneeling to someone else.

The situations made them curse their luck, but they could only hope to escape alive. After all, being arrogant wasn't worth throwing away one's life, in fact if it came down to it, they would rather kneel to this being than the Sovereigns.

Meanwhile, Ryan had witnessed their ears burst and their minds suffer pain because of his booming voice, so he tuned it down to accommodate their fragile minds.

Sweat was visible on their faces as they were nervous, they couldn't tell what this God would do next. Their fear grew with every second Ryan remained quiet.

"Ha, don't make me laugh mortal. Why would you want to learn more about the Divine? Tell me why you're really here or be crushed!" Ryan finally spoke after careful thought.

He doubted her reasons for studying the divine because his essence and her mortal nature were moons apart. What purpose would knowing more about God's serve a mortal aside from gaining their favor and worshipping them?

'It's not like they can one day ascend to my level, wait...can they? I need to learn more about this world and how far one can reach in power'

Ryan immediately corrected his thinking because of the numerous novels he's read in his past life. And the majority host a power system where one can ascend to Godhood or higher.

So it would be wise not to underestimate this world. Maelis thought of lying at first because she was afraid the truth would get her killed, but there was still a possibility this God would see right through her.

And she didn't want to risk such a scenario of lying to this God, so she opted to be straightforward with gritted teeth "Your holiness, we–we came here seeking treasures. Had we known that you would take offense to us unworthy mortals searching your temple, we would have left within a heartbeat. Please spare us from your wraith"

'Danm this busty junior knows how to beg, if I were anything other than a God I'd probably fold immediately! But I need to maintain my Act of a fearsome God'

"You know how to appease, I'll give that, but there's only one way I may spare you and your meaningless lives"

"We're willing to do anything!" Maelis spoke without waiting for the approval of her companions, they knew better than to refute her words as their lives were on the line.

"Good"

With no physical body, Ryan wondered how exactly he would breed them, he really wished that voice hadn't abandoned him and was still here so he could ask questions and learn more.

But he had to improvise somehow, as he pondered he got a notification from the system and what he saw made him smile with satisfaction, at least he imagined he was smiling with joy.

[Due to the host's lack of a physical form to fulfill the task. Temporary abilities will be issued to improvise]

'Truly, this system is looking out for me, I'm so lucky I didn't get those heartless systems from other webnovels'

He quickly checked the ability and he wasn't disappointed.

[Dream scape–Creates a parallel world that's similar to the original, the user can influence the world however they wish. Only works on beings weaker than the user's Mind(Temporary)]

With this, he could most definitely complete the task if his actions counted in this parallel world; hopefully, the system registered the task complete.

Without wasting a second he activated the ability. The effect was potent, especially for weak minds like the Saint. Their eyes rolled back as foam escaped their mouths, while collapsing they fainted and lost consciousness on the cold hard stone.

To an onlooker, it would seem their minds were attacked by a parasite or something out of a horror movie. But it was simply the result of Ryan's new ability which was temporary nevertheless.

Of course, the effect wouldn't be this potent if the mind were stronger, but their mind would still be sent to the parallel world.

Elira was the first to wake up in the parallel world, she was somehow back at her Manor, specifically in her bedroom. She felt a painful headache as she tried to get a grasp of what was going on.

"Could it be that I had a bad dream?" She asked herself as she clutched her head and rubbed her temples.

"Dreams or not, you still end up finding your way back to me" A voice spoke in the corner of her room which startled her. She jumped back and tried to use magic but to no avail.

"Calm down, you don't have to make a fool of yourself" the voice said as it watched Elira distance herself while trying a hand gesture but nothing happened. So she decided to give up and carefully study the source of the voice.

A man emerged from the shadows as they clung to him like a sticker before letting him go as he walked further. Elira didn't know why but she felt a strong feeling that this was the same being that had made them kneel previously. So she paused any further hostile thoughts like physically attacking the man, and resorted to being humble.

"What have you done to us, please...whatever this is, find it in you to spare me" She spoke after a while. Ryan watched her face carefully, he didn't like how she maintained that cold emotionless face even in this situation.
