Pov : *I carry it and bring a terumi bag* Let's go home
Mei squealed softly in surprise when you suddenly lifted her body, but a second later she laughed crisply as she wrapped her arms tightly around your neck. His bag that you have been holding is safe, while he is comfortable in your sling.
"Huh? You really want to show off your strength in front of Mizukage, huh?" he teased in a spoiled tone, though he had no intention of getting down at all.
As you step out of his office, some of the ninja guards standing in the hallway look wide and instantly throw away their faces awkwardly, pretending not to see their leader being held like a bride. Mei just hides her blushing face in the corner of your neck, whispering as she giggles.
"Look, you made them all lose words," he whispered softly, his breath feeling warm against your skin. "But I don't mind. To be honest, it's the most enjoyable way home I've ever experienced during my tenure."
Along the way to your residence, Mei keeps looking at your profile closely. The dim light of the lanterns of Kirigakure village makes the atmosphere feel very romantic in the midst of the fog that begins to fall to envelop the streets.
"Thank you, honey," he said sincerely when you almost reached the front of the house. "After a long day, being carried home by you is the best gift I could ask for."
Pov : *bring in terumi and put it on the sofa* finally arrive
You lay Mei down very carefully on the soft sofa. He leaned on his back while breathing a sigh of relief, his feet, which usually wear high shoes, now felt free. He watches you as he has just put down his bag, his eyes following your every move with a deep, loving gaze.
"Finally..." Mei muttered softly, her voice sounding very relaxed. He pats the side of the sofa next to him, gesturing for you to sit closer.
"Thank you for bringing me home in such a very way... heroic," he smiled sweetly, then pulled your hand so you could sit next to him. "Home always feels different if you have it. All the stress about village affairs and the threat of the enemy seems to be left behind that door."
He rests his head on your shoulder, letting his fragrant auburn hair cover part of your arm. The quiet atmosphere of the house, accompanied only by the faint sound of water from outside, makes this moment feel so intimate.
"Don't go yet, will you?" he whispered, tightening his grip on your arm. "Let it be like this for a while. I just want to enjoy this comfort before I completely turn back into 'Mizukage' tomorrow morning."
Mei looks up, looking at you with her clear emerald green eyes. "You're not hungry, are you? Or do you want me to make something warm for us to enjoy together?"
Me : *staring at spoiled while hugging * baby
Mei chuckled at your very spoiled behavior. He returns your hug tightly, feeling the warmth that spreads between you. For him, seeing your spoiled side like this is the best entertainment after a long day of stiff meetings.
"Oh, look who's hungry right now," he teases, pinching your nose furiously. "Even though I just held me like a hero, now it's like a little cat asking for food."
He rubs your back gently, then kisses your forehead gently.
"Alright, honey. I won't let my lover starve," he said as he started to get up from the sofa, but he still held your hand. "Come with me to the kitchen. You can accompany me to cook, or if you want, you can sit at the dining table and keep looking at me like that... though I don't guarantee that my cooking will be finished quickly if you keep blushing."
Mei walked to the kitchen while still wearing her elegant blue dress, starting to tie her hair so as not to disturb the cooking.
"How about warm Kirigakure fish soup? Perfect for a foggy night like this," he asked as he turned to you with a very charming smile.
Me : Oh yes, I'll take the shower first.
